Position Summary:

 

The (Facilities Specialist) is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and safety of a company’s facilities. This role involves overseeing building systems, managing maintenance schedules, coordinating with contractors and service providers, and implementing improvements to enhance facility functionality and efficiency. 

The (Facility Engineer) are tasked with troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and contributing to long-term planning for facility upgrades and expansions. This position requires a strong technical background, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments.

Role Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee the maintenance and operation of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure the longevity and reliability of facility equipment.
  • Coordinate with external contractors and service providers for repairs, installations, and upgrades.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure facilities meet safety and environmental regulations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to facility systems.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of facility upgrades, renovations, and new construction projects.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment inventories, and compliance documentation.
  • Collaborate with other departments to address facility needs and support business operations.

 

Year 1 Deliverables:

  • Energy Efficiency Initiatives: Identify and implement energy-saving measures across the facility to reduce operational costs and improve sustainability.
  • Facility Safety Audits: Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure all building systems and processes comply with safety regulations and standards.
  • Implementing a Preventive Maintenance Program: Develop and roll out a comprehensive preventive maintenance program to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of facility equipment.
  • Technical Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Address and resolve technical issues related to mechanical, electrical and structural facilties.
  • Data Management and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and generate reports to track performance metrics and project outcomes.

Required Skills and Experience:

 

Maintenance and Repair Skills:

  • Proficiency in basic maintenance tasks such as plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and HVAC systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment and facilities efficiently.

 

Customer Service Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with employees and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Problem-solving skills to address tenant inquiries and complaints effectively.

 

Safety Awareness:

  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures.
  • Ability to identify and address potential hazards to ensure a safe working environment.

 

Physical Fitness:

  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, and climbing.
  • Good physical stamina to handle the demands of the job.

 

Preferred Skills: 

 

  • Knowledge of building codes and regulations.
  • Knowledge of security protocols and procedures that can help maintain a safe and secure environment.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in common software applications, can be helpful for tasks like scheduling, reporting, and managing facility data
