The Opportunity

As the lead architect for Fuel iX, you will help set the technology strategy and choices that power the Fuel iX (www.fuelix.ai) AI platform that helps enterprises manage and accelerate AI-fueled intelligent experiences (iX). This role is pivotal in enhancing and evolving our industry-leading AI engine, ensuring it delivers flexibility, control, productivity, and trust to enterprises worldwide. 

We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Architect to establish the design patterns and technology selections that will further enhance our SaaS product, featuring a control plane for generative AI solutions combined with end-user application support. This platform integrates with custom and packaged generative AI applications, enterprise applications, cloud services, and backend enterprise systems and databases.

Location and Flexibility 

This role will be in a Work From Near (Hybrid) capacity based in one of the following offices: Boston, MA, Charlottesville, VA, Durham, NC, or Columbus, OH OR in a Work From Anywhere (Remote within US) capacity with travel to clients and WillowTree offices expected. 

Qualifications

  • You are driven by curiosity and enthusiasm about building out a platform to enable generative AI adoption, management, and control, for enterprise technology teams.  
  • Believe in autonomy and taking initiative
  • Have experience defining the architecture and leading technical design of an enterprise B2B SaaS product, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
  • Have experience ensuring seamless data flow and interoperability across various systems and platforms.
  • Have experience working closely with product management, engineering, and customer success teams to align technical strategies with business goals.
  • At least a basic knowledge of the generative AI solution landscape.
  • Have familiarity with CI/CD, Agile techniques for managing work, pairing, mobbing, and shift-left testing
  • Have owned the delivery of a complete SaaS that served enterprise users
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to break down  complex problems around technology, business processes, user experience and development tasks. 
  • 10+ years of experience in software architecture and/or software development with a focus on SaaS with any AI experience a strong plus. 

Bonus Points

  • Experience developing or implementing API gateways, microservices architectures, and/or enterprise application integration solutions
  • Experience architecting, designing, or developing AI-enabled software products
  • Experience in customer experience, contact center, and/or customer self-service bot platforms
