GENERAL ROLE DESCRIPTION 

Wild Alaskan Company is looking for a Social Media Manager reporting to the Director of Brand. In this role, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the brand presence and driving growth of the business. You’ll sit within the Brand & Innovation department (including new product development, merchandising, brand and creative). 

We’re looking for a Social Media Manager who’s a storyteller with a deep passion for real food and the outdoors. This person is an expert at creating thumb-stopping content that drives engagement across social media platforms. They’ll ultimately be responsible for growing our brand's passionate community through compelling and meaningful content. You’ll demonstrate a proven track record in crafting content and executing social plans that drive growth on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube (+Shorts), Pinterest and emerging platforms. You’ll closely collaborate with analytics, creative, merchandising, marketing, brand, and third-party agencies to continually optimize our social efforts. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Manage and execute ongoing organic social channels across all platforms to support business goals while bringing the brand ethos to the forefront of our content across all social media channels.
  • Unlocking new platform growth opps like new tech tools, social channels, etc.
  • Responsible for managing all social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, X/Twitter, Linkedin and Pinterest 
  • Hands on creation of highly engaging, digitally and socially native video content independently
  • Collaboration with the in-house creative team and external agencies to manage and/or create social content 
  • Manage social activations for product launches, marketing campaigns, partnerships, and influencer/ambassador programs.
  • Collaborate with influencers, brand ambassadors, and content contributors to create highly engaging socially-native content.
  • Lead and maintain community engagement across social platforms in partnership with the Member Service team 
  • Manage the organic social media calendar to align with key moments in the broader marketing calendar and ensure cross-functional efforts are captured and coordinated.
  • Stay on top of social trends and cultural moments through social listening and data insights to identify new opportunities for creative, marketing, and product innovation.
  • Continuously monitor and report on organic social performance to test, learn, and iterate—driving ongoing improvements to creative and strategy while ensuring cross-functional alignment.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCES 

  • 3-5 years working in social media marketing.
  • Experience with consumer-facing brands, ideally in food or CPG, within agency and/or in-house environments.
  • Proven track record of leveraging organic social media to grow business metrics - specifically within Meta, YouTube and/or TikTok.
  • Skilled in creating digitally-native UGC-style (with phone) and comfortable writing captions that balance brand voice with industry best practices.
  • Finger on the cultural pulse to inject the brand into the conversation.
  • Experience writing briefs and collaborating with internal and/or external creative teams/agencies to produce social assets/ creative.
  • Confident knowledge of social media scheduling tools – ie Hootsuite, AgoraPulse, Sprout Social or similar. 
  • Proficiency in Google analytics, Looker or other data analytics tools.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational and communication skills; ability to manage multiple projects at once.
  • Bring a multitasking mindset and curiosity, while serving as a knowledgeable advocate for organic social at Wild Alaskan Company.

 

NICE TO HAVES 

  • Experience in a high-growth, start-up environment (bonus: food brand) 
  • Experience using editing programs like premier, final cut, canva or similar software 
  • Experience in leveraging ChatBots and AI to drive engagement - ie Instagram Chat Automation, ManyChat 
  • Knowledge of sustainability, specifically sustainable food systems, a plus

Salary Band

$70,000 - $90,000 per year
