Not all heroes wear capes — but plenty of them use toilet paper

Want to challenge yourself at a purpose-led scale up AND make a difference in the world? Come join the revolootion!

Funny name, serious business

We make eco-friendly products and donate 50% of our profits to provide clean water and help build toilets for the billions of people who lack proper access. So far, we’ve contributed over $11.22 million AUD (roughly $7.5 million USD) to fund sanitation projects around the globe. Basically, we’re really good at doing good.

With hubs in Australia, the Philippines, China, the US, UK and Europe, our amazing team of 200+ work to make the biggest possible impact for people and the planet. Over the next couple of years, we’re hoping to increase our annual donation tenfold to get us closer to our dream of everyone in the world having access to clean water and sanitation services.

A bit about the role

With this growing team and audacious goal in mind, we need a payroll whiz to join our "Number Scrunchers" team. This may not be the most glamorous role, but it's super important! You'll be the one making sure our amazing team gets paid accurately and on time. This dedicated Payroll Accountant will play a vital role in managing payroll preparation and processing for our US hub.

Reporting to our Financial Accountant Payroll Lead, you'll be the hero ensuring our payroll runs like clockwork, from onboarding new hires to processing payments and keeping us squeaky clean on compliance. What’s more exciting is you get to play with our brand-new global platform and ERP system – say goodbye to tedious tasks and hello to a breeze! We're talking ADP and NetSuite!

You’ll love this role if you are hungry for the chance to improve and build on systems in place like designing SOPs for our payroll processes. This means working with our payroll partner to identify gaps and areas we can bring in-house for better control. You'll also collaborate with our Numbers Srunchers and P&C teams to establish clear approval workflows and ensure the right level of oversight. Get ready to be the architect of a more efficient payroll future!

Our team is spread across Australia, the Philippines, and the US. We’re seeking a talented individual based in the Philippines to join our growing global team.

If you worked here this past month here are some things you might have been involved in:

  • Collaborated with P&C, Legal, and Number Scrunchers to understand the hub model and its payroll implications.
  • Successfully completed two pay runs for the US hub – you'd be the maestro behind the smooth symphony of salaries!
  • Accurately entered all US payroll-related Journal Entries into NetSuite – precision is your middle name!
  • Worked closely with P&C to confirm all changes/updates for two pay runs – ensuring a seamless flow of information is key.
  • Responded to employee payroll requests with support from P&C where applicable – because a happy and informed team is a productive team!

Let’s talk about you

You’re a payroll whiz by trade!

You possess a deep well of experience with various payroll systems including ADP. You'll bring a toolkit of best practices to the role, ensuring smooth and accurate processing.  You’re excited to apply your skills in a new setting and eager to get deep into the nuts and bolts of how we work as a business.

Accuracy is your superpower

You thrive on meticulously ensuring every detail is correct, especially when working with sensitive financial information. Payroll is where your eagle eye for precision shines, as even the smallest mistake can have a big impact.

Time management is your jam!

Ensuring payroll is on time, every time, is a non-negotiable. You'll keep payroll on track for our semi-monthly cycles and ensure timely payments for all employees and contractors.  As our payroll hub liaison, you'll collaborate seamlessly with P&C and external partners to guarantee a smooth and efficient process.

Collaboration is key (you live by this motto!)

Your fellow team members love your results-oriented approach – they know you'll get them the answers they need. You, in turn, thrive on teamwork because it gives you a window into how different parts of the business function. You’re eager to put your teamwork skills to use as we work on our payroll compliance checklist and ensure we’re meeting all global obligations.

You give a crap

Do you want your work to make the world a better place? Do you want to work with other people who feel the same way? What a coincidence — us too!

Why should you work with us?

First off, as a certified B Corp™, we work to make a difference every day while maintaining the highest standards of social and environmental impact. With our most recent score of 125.5 we’re in very good company with other exceptional B Corps around the world.

We also believe that helping to make the world a better place should be rewarded accordingly – that’s why we offer competitive, market informed salaries, meaningful support towards healthcare for our team around the world, generous paid leave, tailored learning and development opportunities, and free toilet paper (yes, you read that right).

Our engagement surveys (thanks Culture Amp!) tell us that our team is really proud (98%) to work for Who Gives A Crap and, well, we couldn’t be more proud of that.

Have you made it this far?

If you’re still reading, we think there’s a strong chance you might be our kind of person. Here’s the thing, though — research suggests that 60% of women and underrepresented folks might have already talked themselves out of applying. Even if you don’t check every box above, we want to encourage you to introduce yourself. We believe a diversity of perspectives and experiences makes a team stronger — and the stronger our team, the closer we are to delivering toilets and clean water for all.
