Funny name, serious business
We make eco-friendly products and donate 50% of our profits to help build toilets for the billions of people who lack proper access. So far, we’ve contributed over $11.2 million AUD (roughly $7.8 million USD) to fund water and sanitation projects around the globe. Basically, we’re really good at doing good.
With hubs in Australia, the Philippines, China, the US, UK and Europe, our ambitious team of 200+ work to make the biggest possible impact for people and the planet. Over the next couple of years, we’re working to increase our annual donation tenfold to get closer to our dream of everyone in the world having access to clean water and toilets.
A bit about the role
Reporting to our Director of Product Management, as Technical Product Manager you’ll ensure we deliver a seamless and best-in-class onsite experience that works beautifully for our customers and our business. You’ll champion, contribute to, and execute against the technical aspects of our product roadmap whilst working elbow-to-elbow with our Product Managers, Product Design team, and Engineering counterparts in your squad area of ownership.
As our technical expert, you’ll help deliver new products and features through effective scoping, defining key metrics, requirement wrangling, and leveraging data. You’ll be focused on detailed understanding of the product suite's long-term strategy and with your deep knowledge of our Who Gives A Crap and Good Time customers, develop the technical product strategy with your close-knit engineering partners.
If you worked here in the past month here are some things you might have been involved in:
- Led our latest Quarterly Roadmap company-wide meeting and did a deep-dive on all things happening to revamp our website making sure eyes didn't glaze over and stuff didn't fly over heads.
- Collaborated with our Director of Digital Product, leadership, and other key XFN stakeholders to revise our digital product dashboards and ensure everyone has visibility into how the site is performing
- Owned the product backlog for your squad area and evolved it based on the latest changes in the business and our technical roadmap
- Put your blue sky thinking cap on and collaborated with engineering on the next horizon of work once we go headless
- Helped keep the team aligned, all the communication flowing, and all the collaboration happening by attending regular virtual sprints, stand-ups, retrospectives and other ceremonies
Let's talk about you
You are big on technical solutions
You’re obsessed with getting into the technical details and understanding the inner-workings of processes, keeping the end-user in mind throughout all stages of the product management lifecycle. You’re always on the lookout for places to optimise and opportunities to scale, and you love to dig into the data to validate assumptions, track progress and find new opportunities!
You’re an expert collaborator
You’re able to clearly define priorities and build out the execution across the product roadmap generating support and buy-in from both key stakeholders team members by keeping the communication flowing across stakeholders and teams, and ultimately delivering the products and features you scoped. People trust you and you’re able to build a reputation as an expert as well as an accountable, transparent and trustworthy teammate.
You’re super organised
You are continually looking for ways to streamline, organise and optimise the experience of our internal team (your customer!). You communicate fluently with and listen empathetically to Designers and Engineers a-like. Driven by human-centred design principles you leverage your first-class time and project management chops to bring products to life that deliver and delight.
You’re a serial communicator
You know how important it is to keep everyone in the know and lean on your expert communication skills to keep everyone aligned. Whether it’s drafting up notes from a brief, nudging a teammate or external vendor on a timeline or deliverable, sharing updates in stand ups or a-sync, leading a weekly project check-in or sharing status reports to stakeholders on progress, you clearly and effectively share what’s happening to keep everyone in the loop and on the same page.
You naturally inspire those around you
You’re a life-long learner and builder, and that comes full circle when it comes with teammates: you work alongside others who encourage and inspire you to be your best (and vice versa) so everyone grows together to level-up. You set a level of mastery of your work such that everyone around you is inspired to grow and achieve their potential.
You give a crap
Do you want your work to make the world a better place? Do you want to work with other people who feel the same way? What a coincidence — us too!
Why should you work with us?
First off, as a certified B Corp™, we work to make a difference every day while maintaining the highest standards of social and environmental impact. With our most recent score of 125.5 we’re in very good company with other exceptional B Corps around the world.
We also believe that helping to make the world a better place should be rewarded accordingly – that’s why we offer competitive, market informed salaries, meaningful support towards healthcare, wellbeing and mental fitness of our team around the world, generous paid leave, tailored learning and development opportunities, and free toilet paper (yes, you read that right).
Our engagement surveys (thanks Culture Amp!) tell us that 98% of our team are proud to work for Who Gives A Crap and, well, we couldn’t be more proud of that.
Have you made it this far?
If you’re still reading, we think there’s a strong chance you might be our kind of person. Here’s the thing, though — research suggests that 60% of women and underrepresented folks might have already talked themselves out of applying. Even if you don’t check every box above, we want to encourage you to introduce yourself. We believe a diversity of perspectives and experiences makes a team stronger — and the stronger our team, the closer we are to delivering toilets and clean water for all.
