Intel Team Overview:

  • This role is a full-time role based at our New York headquarters, reporting to the Director of Analytics & Insights
  • This team partners with cross-functional teams to understand and address their analytical, research and reporting needs
  • Team members synthesize large data sets, translating raw data points into actionable insights for internal and external clients
  • We are responsible for promoting data-enhanced decision making throughout the company
  • Analytics differentiates Whistle Sports, creating a powerful value proposition for the marketplace

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Analyze data on social behavior (e.g., views, likes, shares, views, etc.) to build strategies that drive performance across all social media projects - including Whistle Sports-owned handles, creator network properties and brand partnership clients
  • Develop empirical, actionable insights on why certain content is performing well on social and collaborate with social media teams to increase engagement - both in real-time and on a longitudinal basis
  • Leverage advanced analytics to understand viewership trends on Whistle Sports YouTube & Facebook, and partner with content team to optimize future content development
  • Tell digestible stories to internal stakeholders and clients with data; build polished, scalable, insightful deliverables on social media performance/recommendations, and manage reporting cadence
  • Forecast KPI goals for all social media channels and campaigns based on quantitative modeling
  • Analyze thumbnails, headlines, keywords, hashtags, etc. and recommend best practices
  • Identify opportunities for deploying paid support of organic posts and manage budget allocation
  • Benchmark social performance against past results and competitor performance  
  • Analyze competitor and industry trends, developing insights to support the brand partnerships team
  • Manage relationships with best-in-class social media analytics vendors and specialists to continue up-leveling Whistle Sports as a thought leader in the social analytics space

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum 3 years experience in social media analytics at an agency or in-house, with a focus on performance of video content
  • Expert in social media tracking, measurement and reporting: using native YouTube/ Facebook/ Instagram/ Twitter analytics tools and third-party platforms (e.g., Pulsar, Crowdtangle, Tubular) to analyze performance
  • Experience analyzing revenue from monetized content on YouTube and Facebook
  • Proven ability to integrate multiple data sources and translate into actionable insights
  • Familiarity with implementing paid social media campaigns
  • Wizard in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and Tableau/other visualization tools
  • Experience with advanced analytics tools (e.g., SQL, R)
  • Successful track record of influencing social media teams with analytics
  • Well versed in current digital trends and thoughtful about finding new, innovative ways of looking at social media data
