Whisper.ai is building the world’s first noise cancelling hearing aid system: it analyzes your audio in real time, automatically filtering out noise and amplifying the sounds you want to hear. Unlike traditional hearing aids, which simply amplify everything in the room, Whisper amplifies the person you’re listening to based on millions of audio prints it learns over time so it’s able to pick out who you’re listening to, even in the noisiest restaurant.

THE ROLE

As Whisper.ai’s marketing leader and first full-time marketing hire, you will build Whisper's brand, lead the launch of our first product, and develop and execute a marketing plan across multiple audiences (hearing care professionals and consumers) as well as channels (e.g. PR, clinical marketing, online & offline advertising, automation strategies and techniques, events, key opinion leaders, and customer success). From the very tactical day-to-day to long-term marketing strategy, you'll be responsible for building a new brand and driving awareness of a revolutionary new product and related technologies. This role will work alongside Whisper’s Head of Sales to ensure commercial success of our first product by building and managing a fully integrated sales & marketing organization, with fully aligned goals. This role requires someone with excellent tactical judgement and a bias towards bringing innovative premium products to market. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this is a rare opportunity to develop the marketing function from scratch and before commercial launch, and support rapid growth at an early-stage, mission-driven company.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establish the marketing roadmap by developing tangible goals and a plan to execute against them

  • Work with external agencies and designers to ensure every Whisper touchpoint delights customers

  • Create and lead a customer success support system that ensures scaleable support exists for hearing care professionals and Whisper owners

  • Lead launch communications for all company, product, and partner announcements

  • Establish our brand following through content creation, paid marketing, community evangelism, and events

  • Cultivate relationships with key opinion leaders in the hearing health space

  • Work cross-functionally with sales, account management, and operations to grow distribution

  •  Perform market research and competitive analysis (both formal and informal) to define messaging and drive its evolution for audiologists and end consumers

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years of marketing experience at a fast-growing company, ideally with experience in premium consumer hardware and/or services (major bonus points for working on a category-creating brand from a nascent stage)
  •  A passionate and articulate storyteller

  • Experience sourcing, hiring, and managing creative agencies

  • A rare combo of a creative and an analytical brain -- equally comfortable with copy as data (and willing to listen to the data when it’s available)

  • Experience across a wide variety of marketing channels including marketing automation, online marketing, PR, and direct mail. Proficiency with clinical marketing is a plus.

  • Excited about rolling up your sleeves to get things done, but also able to lead and delegate (people would say you're the best manager they ever had but you aren't set on managing others from the beginning)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated ability to break down complex concepts and explain them simply to end-customers

  • Hands-on and detail-oriented, have been an integral member of an early marketing function with limited resources

  • Consistent track record of driving awareness and expansion of new products

  • Strong intuition and understanding of what makes great creative

  • Thrive in a rapidly changing environment with tight deadlines
