Wheelhouse Group is searching for a motivated and enthusiastic leader to develop and manage our brand and voice in the marketplace. This position involves strategic thinking while rolling up your sleeves and writing content, including but not limited to marketing collateral, articles, new business proposals, and internal communications. It also entails working across the company to bring to life the exciting work our consultants do to help our clients have an impact.

Responsibilities for Marketing and Communications Lead

  • Help implement an annual marketing plan to support business health and growth goals
  • Help manage the Wheelhouse brand and enhance brand awareness and positioning
  • Write, research and/or edit content and materials for internal and external audiences
  • Work with internal and external subject matter experts to capture and communicate our work and impact
  • Plan, direct, and execute focused marketing campaigns
  • Build, manage, and contribute content to an editorial calendar, collaborating with other members of the team to ensure timely creation and delivery of materials
  • Write and manage new business pitches and proposals, including white papers, RFI responses, and RFP/RFQ responses
  • Manage our website content, social media channels and marketing collateral to align with our company brand and strategic goals
  • Lead and manage the corporate graphic request process: manage agencies and/or designers to meet deliverable needs
  • Lead internal communications to support executive and internal program goals

Qualifications for Marketing and Communications Lead

  • 5-10+ years of experience in marketing and/or communications; experience working in the federal services marketplace preferred
  • Exceptional writing skills and experience writing for varying stakeholders/audiences; federal proposal or grant writing experience preferred
  • Project management experience in communications or marketing areas
  • Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to communicate with clients, colleagues, and management
  • Experience managing website design and development
  • Demonstrated experience with WordPress or other content management systems
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams) and Adobe Creative Cloud skills
  • Proficiency with Google Analytics or other analytics platforms
  • Ability to work independently, adjust to shifting priorities, and turn around projects on short timelines
  • Excellent organization, communication, and project planning skills, with a sharp attention to detail and accuracy, even on time sensitive projects
  • Flexibility to plan and work on multiple projects simultaneously; effectively manage time and prioritize workload
  • Thrives in cross-functional, matrixed, and multi-disciplinary team structures
  • Driven, enthusiastic team player confident in taking initiative and thinking creatively
