About the Role
The International Accounting Team (covering both the EMEA and APAC regions) is looking to hire an Accounting Manager. This role is responsible for Territory specific accounting across the region, with a focus on ensuring local statutory compliance in each of the countries. You will work to support the monthly close process internationally, with a close attention needed to the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations. You will work closely with the Internal Audit team to ensure strict adherence to SOX requirements and will serve as a point of contact to the financial reporting and external auditors for a number of Statutory filings.
Responsibilities
For all countries under your supervision, your responsibilities will include:
Territory Accounting
Timely completion of monthly close process
Prepare analytical reviews across Income Statement and Balance Sheets
Liaise with Territory Finance across the region, ensuring accounting records align with forecasting
Lease Accounting & Management
Support the lease accounting team on timely completion of monthly close process
Preparation of lease control reconciliations
Work closely with the Lease Finance Management team, to perform monthly/quarterly reconciliations across our landlord portfolio
Liaison across multiple teams within WeWork to ensure lease transactions are appropriately recorded and remediate issues identified
Recommend and implement process improvements as appropriate to simplify, standardize and streamline efforts
Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors
Management Reporting
Support in the preparation & delivery of monthly finance reviews for the region (while supporting Global Accounting), demonstrating in depth knowledge of territory specific activity.
Local GAAP Accounting
Manage relationships with external accounting service providers
Identify process weaknesses/errors and implement improvements
Provide accurate and timely completion of monthly US GAAP to local GAAP reconciliations across various International countries
Support the financial reporting team on statutory audits
Qualifications
Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
5+ years post qualified experience
Year end audit / financial statement preparation (US GAAP/IFRS)
Management and supervision of qualified and unqualified accountants
Preparation and review of SOX compliant month end close processes
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Proven track record of process improvement
