Who You Are: A Strategic SaaS Finance Leader with a proven track record of optimization and success 

As WSL continues to accelerate revenue growth and drive expansion, we’re searching for an experienced Chief Financial Officer/SVP of Finance to join our team of high-performing professionals and keep our finances positioned for continued success. 

As an experienced and driven SaaS CFO/VP of Finance, you will guide the financial systems that empower us. Your expertise will have a significant impact on our company's day-to-day operations, providing valuable insights to help us analyze, strategize, and achieve financial growth. You not only understand current finance and accounting practices and trends but also have experience raising capital and adapting to change. You are comfortable in a senior leadership role that requires collaboration, drive, and clear and effective communication skills. You have high integrity and value transparency, collaboration, and accountability. 

How You’ll Contribute:  

As our SVP of Finance/CFO at WSL, you will drive financial strategy, ensure fiscal discipline, and support our growth trajectory. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will lead all finance-related functions. This highly collaborative role will help guide the team to be trusted business partners, provide smooth operations, and ensure the financial health of WSL.

In your day-to-day, you will be responsible for:  

Strategy, Planning, and Management

    • Serve as a strategic business partner to our Chief Executive Officer, Board of Directors, and executive leadership team.
    • Conduct financial analysis and scenario modeling to support strategic decision-making and investment prioritization.
    • Assess potential risks and opportunities, and recommend actions to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.

Financial Analysis, Budgeting and Forecasting

    • Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes; develop and maintain monthly operating budget and WSL annual operating budget.
    • Analyze key financial metrics and provide insights to drive decision-making and resource allocation.
    • Monitor financial performance against targets and identify areas for improvement.

Financial Reporting

    • Prepare timely and accurate financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
    • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and tax obligations.
    • Provide transparent and insightful reporting to executive leadership, internal stakeholders, board members, and investors.

Cash Flow Management

    • Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to support ongoing operations and growth initiatives; implement effective cash management strategies 
    • Evaluate financing options and maintain relationships with banking partners and investors.

Team Leadership & Development

    • Manage and develop a small, high-performing finance team - fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
    • Provide coaching, guidance, and development to finance team members.

What We’re Looking For 

To thrive in this role, you will have some combination of the following: 

  • 10+ years of total finance/accounting experience
  • 4+ years in a SaaS company, leading their financial operations 
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or other related field is nice to have
  • Full command of GAAP accounting, financial statements, budgeting and forecasting, and internal controls.
  • Track record of building diverse, high-performing teams that successfully deliver and scale an organization
  • Demonstrated track record of successful cross-functional partnership, specifically with Marketing, Sales and Customer Success, and Business Operations teams 
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with experience in a remote environment.
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement
  • Ability to lead and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and to drive multiple priorities effectively

Compensation and Benefits 

As a startup, we strive to be externally competitive with companies at a similar size and stage, and internally fair in our pay practices. The base hiring salary range for this role is $190,000 - $280,000 and represents the target offer range given the scope and experience expectations for this role. 

In hiring, we are generally open to a range of experiences and levels, and recognize that as a candidate you may be less experienced or more senior than this job description as posted. If that's the case, an updated salary range will be shared with you if you move forward in our hiring process. As a WSL team member, once you are hired, the salary range for your role expands to ensure you are able to receive performance-based raises and grow in your role.
