Hudson River Trading is looking for an experienced lawyer with a strong background in employment law to join our Legal team. This role is based in our New York City office.
This role requires extremely close teamwork and collaboration within the Legal team and with People Operations. As a strategic partner, you will provide multi-state and cross-border employment advice, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations throughout all jurisdictions in which HRT has offices.
The ideal candidate has a hands-on approach, strong attention to detail, and the ability to make risk-weighted assessments and recommendations to stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Identify and assess legal risks and opportunities within the labor and employment area and advise accordingly
- Partner with HR on employment-related legal matters, including but not limited to offers and separations, data privacy, employee handbooks, etc.
- Strategize and manage post-employment negotiations and dispute resolutions
- Supervise outside counsel on employment-related matters
Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school required
- 10+ years of experience practicing employment law
- In-house experience is a must
- In-depth knowledge of US employment law
- Familiarity with employment laws in Singapore, the United Kingdom, Ireland, China and/or India strongly preferred
- Experience in the financial services industry preferred but not required
Annual base salary range of $200,000 to $300,000. Pay (base and bonus) may vary depending on job-related skills and experience. A sign-on and discretionary performance bonus may be provided as part of the total compensation package, in addition to company-paid medical and/or other benefits.
