About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and qualified Tax Manager to oversee our company’s tax operations. The Tax Manager will play a critical role in managing tax compliance, resolving audits, mitigating tax risks, and developing strategies that promote financial well-being while ensuring adherence to all applicable laws.
To excel, the ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of tax regulations, excellent prioritization skills, and the ability to lead with a proactive mindset, ensuring timely filings and reducing risk exposure.
Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual tax filings for multiple states, including business, income, sales, and other applicable taxes.
- Ability to negotiate with tax authorities over tax payment issues
- Coordinate with external consultants and tax authorities to resolve tax disputes and audits, while establishing clear deadlines.
- Lead the development of a structured tax risk assessment and tracking system to avoid penalties and ensure compliance.
- Identify and implement proactive tax savings strategies such as Voluntary Disclosure Agreements (VDA).
- Ensure effective communication of high-risk tax liabilities and audit exposures before they become critical.
- Provide support for internal and external audits, ensuring thorough documentation and timely responses.
- Monitor industry trends and changes to tax laws, ensuring the company stays ahead of evolving regulations.
- Collaborate with IT and finance teams to maintain updated tax classifications and automate compliance processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field
- 3-5 years of experience in a tax management role, preferably in retail or e-commerce.
- Proven track record in managing state tax compliance, resolving backfilings, and reducing audit risks.
- In-depth knowledge of tax laws, with experience in tax audits and developing compliance strategies.
- Proficiency with accounting software, tax tracking systems, and MS Office.
- Strong prioritization, communication, and time management skills to handle complex tax issues and audits.
- Must be a team player and willing to work extended hours when necessary for projects.

Compensation Range
- The US base salary range for this full-time position is $135,000 to 155,000
- This role may be eligible to discretionary bonus, incentives and benefits
- Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location
