Director, Lifestyle & Field Marketing (Onsite- 4 days per week in office)

Overview:

The Director, Lifestyle & Field Marketing will collaborate with leadership to develop and drive lifestyle strategies.  This role will drive the execution and oversee the day to day management of partnerships and events across the US to elevate Weedmaps brand, awareness and consumer consideration.

The impact you'll make:

  • Manage,assess risk, oversee logistics (permitting, shipping, ROS, load-in/out, set-up/strike-down, merchandising, staff management), pre and post event reporting. 
  • Work with leadership to develop and drive Lifestyle strategies for Weedmaps
  • Drive the execution, and oversee the day-to-day  management of partnerships and events.
  • Elevate Weedmaps brand, awareness and consumer consideration through mixed lifestyle focused partnerships & programs
  • Procure, develop and activate 360-degree programs that effectively meet Weedmaps marketing strategy: Live Entertainment, Lifestyle, Experiential, Content Creators
  • Cultivate and manage Weedmaps influencer/tastemaker programs for brand utilization
  • External unsolicited partnership opportunity assessment, negotiations and execution
  • Research and monitor national emerging lifestyle opportunities.
  • Drive Weedmaps collaborative strategic partnership programs within multiple categories i.e: Entertainment, Fashion, Cause and Creative worlds.
  • Provide lifestyle focused brand management oversight.
  • Brainstorm and implement event plans and concepts.
  • Manage all aspects of event production including: agreement negotiation and execution, planning and project management, budgeting and invoicing, vendor negotiation
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and consumer insights to identify opportunities and enhance brand positioning.
  • Collaborate with the regional marketing teams to adapt and localize national marketing plans according to regional requirements and market conditions.
  • Oversee the development and execution of creative strategies and programs that resonate with the national target audience.
  • Allocate and manage the national marketing budget, ensuring optimal utilization of resources and alignment with financial objectives.
  • Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including regional marketing teams, cultural and events departments, and strategic partners.
  • Evaluate the ROI of marketing initiatives, partnerships, and events to drive continuous improvement and maximize marketing effectiveness.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive event strategy aligned with the company's objectives, ensuring that events are strategically positioned to maximize brand visibility and generate business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and product development, to conceptualize and design innovative event experiences that engage attendees and reflect the company's brand identity.
  • Oversee end-to-end event production, including budgeting, timeline management, vendor selection and negotiation, logistics coordination, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure that all events comply with applicable cannabis industry regulations, including licensing, permits, and security protocols.
  • Team Leadership: Manage a team of event production professionals, providing guidance and support throughout the event planning and execution process.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with event-related vendors and suppliers, negotiating contracts and managing partnerships to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and compliance.
  • Oversee on-site event logistics, including set-up, registration, audio-visual needs, catering, and overall event flow, ensuring a seamless and exceptional attendee experience.
  • Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, including industry partners, sponsors, and exhibitors, to identify opportunities for collaboration and partnership at events.
  • Work with the operations team to analyze event success metrics, gather feedback, and provide post-event reports to assess the effectiveness of event strategies, identify areas for improvement, and share key learnings with relevant teams.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices in event production and the cannabis industry, actively participating in industry conferences and networking events.
  • Hire, train, motivate, manage, and evaluate staff across the US
  • Define appropriate marketing goals and KPIs for the and regularly report on progress and performance.
  • Lead and manage regional marketing managers to ensure effective implementation of marketing plans and campaigns.
  • Willing to travel up to 30% of time.

What you've accomplished:

  • Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Proficiency in event management software and tools.
  • Flexibility to travel and work outside of regular business hours as required by event schedules.
  • 7-10 years of experience in marketing,  lifestyle and brand partnerships
  • Positive attitude, enthusiasm, high energy, and a passion for excellence
  • Results-driven orientation, superior client management skills, excellent follow-up and follow-through
  • Independent self-starter who can get up and running quickly
  • Relevant college degree required or equivalent work experience 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent project management skills.

  • Relationships within entertainment, art, sports, hype, fashion, tech & cause and overall Lifestyle categories strongly preferred
  • Experience and passion for affecting culture change.
  • Passionate/positive about the cannabis culture and movement.
  • Experience working in the cannabis tech industry.

The base pay range for this position is $155,000 - $194,000 per year.
