The role

As a Product Manager, you will be the linchpin in driving scope, priorities, definition of done, and ensuring market fit for advanced AI driving features. This role demands a unique blend of technical acumen, product mindset, and collaborative spirit to support and enhance our internal capabilities. Your work will directly influence the performance, efficiency, and innovation of our autonomous vehicle technology and get it fit for production.

You will maintain ongoing communication with all relevant stakeholders, including the program & automotive teams, to ensure there is a clear and unified understanding of product requirements, and priorities. You will demonstrate versatility by flexing into offboard and limited program work if that’s needed to help the rest of the team grow.

Key responsibilities:

  • AI Performance and Scope Prioritisation
  • Collaborate closely with technical leads across the Embodied AI and Automotive groups to define and refine the L2+ NoA driving function(s)
  • Setting detailed performance goals across scenarios, routes, metrics, and Operational Design Domains (ODD)
  • Lead the prioritisation efforts for expanding ODD capabilities in alignment with automotive standards and customer requirements
  • Driving Concept Enhancement: Lead the advancement of driving concepts that are both collaborative and customisable
  • Defining requirements and priorities for user-specific features like driving style customisation, collaborative driving, and language integration
  • Actively engage with the science team to prioritise research ideas that align with product goals, ensuring a seamless transition from concept to development. This includes evaluating the potential utility of AI features and guiding their integration into product roadmaps.

About you

You excel at balancing multiple priorities, focusing on those that offer the most significant impact in terms of customer satisfaction and technological advancement.
  • Experienced in Automotive: Ideally, you bring a background in the automotive industry, equipped with knowledge of automotive standards, customer preferences, and the technical nuances of vehicle automation. This experience helps you navigate the complexities of L2+ and higher levels of autonomous driving functions.
  • Collaborative Innovator: You thrive in cross-functional teams and excel in roles that require collaboration with both internal stakeholders and external partners. Your ability to foster cooperation across diverse groups is key to driving the product development process.
  • Articulate Communicator: With your strong communication skills, you effectively convey complex ideas and technical details in a clear and persuasive manner, ensuring alignment and understanding among all stakeholders.
  • Adaptable and Versatile: You are flexible and adaptable, ready to shift focus as needed to meet changing demands, embrace new challenges, and contribute outside of traditional role boundaries.

Essential 

  • Solid understanding of ML/AI foundations and principles
  • Experience in product management of embodied AI/ML products
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to set clear, measurable goals, and priorities
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and proactively across different teams and disciplines.
  • Product mindset, always one step ahead of the customer

Desirable 

  • Experience with autonomous/assisted driving function technologies 
  • Experience with LLMs and recent Generative AI methods and architectures
  • Strong communication skills with a knack for bridging technical and business perspectives.
  • Innovativeness and a forward-thinking approach to product development and feature exploration

This is a full-time role based in our office in London, but can also be remote.  At Wayve we want the best of all worlds so we operate a hybrid working policy that combines time together in our offices and workshops to fuel innovation, culture, relationships and learning, and time spent working from home.   We operate core working hours so you can determine the schedule that works best for you and your team.
