Who are we?

Our team is the first in the world to use autonomous vehicles on public roads using end-to-end deep learning. With our multi-national world-class technical team, we’re building things differently. 

We don’t think it’s scalable to tell an algorithm how to drive through hand-coded rules and expensive HD maps. Instead, we believe that using experience and data will allow our algorithms to be more intelligent: capable of easily adapting to new environments.

Our aim is to be the future of self-driving cars: the first to deploy in 100 cities across the world bringing autonomy to everyone, everywhere.

The impact you will have

Wayve is partnering with two of the UK’s biggest online grocery delivery fleets to trial live operations of our self-driving technology on public roads in 2022. As the Strategic Partner Manager responsible for Wayve’s deployment of autonomy with initial customer partners, you will be an integral part of ensuring we ship the world’s first AV2.0 Driver.

You will own and represent the commercial realities of our first Product prototype deployment. Working closely with the Product team for the grocery fleet program and the Operations teams, you will support a multi-disciplinary effort to embed a highly complex product in customer operations. You will negotiate a balance between supporting Wayve’s technical and business model evolution, alongside our partner’s goals. Your skills and expertise in understanding and influencing customer needs and operations will be integral to the success of a program that is at the heart of Wayve’s company priorities, and that is key to our commercial success.

You will be a key member of our Business Development and Partnerships function, collaborating across our Product and Operations Families, to ensure what we ship not only meets the immediate needs of our customer partnerships, but also builds towards our long-term commercial success.

This means you will:

  • Own the relationship with our strategic partners, ensuring timely and clear communications with all key stakeholders inside Wayve and within our partner organisations.
  • Work closely with the Product and Operations teams to ensure we meet our initial Phase 1 customer agreements, as well as positioning Wayve to capture further long-term commercial opportunities.
  • Discover and translate partner requirements, identifying necessary tradeoffs that ensure smooth delivery and prevent blockers. 
  • Collaborate with the Product Leads to ensure our Product development meets the existing and future needs of our customers. Own the market analysis and landscape evaluation where we might need to partner with others to meet customer requirements.
  • Raise ‘unknown unknowns’ you discover as we implement first-of-kind deals, while proposing strategic solutions that meet needs of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Build a strong community in Wayve around the program, ensuring motivation and ownership for Wayve’s first customer milestones for autonomy.
  • Support Wayve’s holistic go-to-market strategy and partner ecosystem through intimate understanding of partnership operational needs and capabilities.

You will be essential to Wayve’s mission, deeply enjoy what you do, take immense pride in being a small part of something big, and love pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.

This role will be based in our London King’s Cross HQ.

About you

  • You excel at building strong, trust-based relationships across internal and external teams.
  • You have a track record of articulating and advocating for long-term strategic needs in the face of near-term business constraints.
  • You are exceptionally adept at finding novel solutions that balance tradeoffs between internal and external stakeholder goals.
  • You have at least 3 years of experience in business development or partner management in technically complex industries. 
  • You have experience working closely with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver on first-of-kind solutions to business model problems.
  • You are able to clearly communicate customer expectations. You are comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • You’re resilient in the face of change, thrive in ambiguity and are excited to find creative solutions to novel challenges.
  • You are deeply curious about building something new and relish the intellectual challenge of helping to define AV2.0 and how we build it.
  • You consider yourself to have an optimistic and open-minded attitude towards solving problems and want to take on the challenge of AVs: the space-race of our generation!
