Manager, Vertical Sales Strategy

As a Manager in Vertical Sales Strategy, your mandate will be to bring a product-nuanced lens to the way we grow our phone and chat platforms. You will represent a cross functional mandate: to partner across the organization with data science, marketing, engineering, category and more to develop and rapidly execute strategies that grow Wayfair revenue. 

 

What you’ll do

  • Develop strategy from scratch: develop new initiatives that drive the growth of multi-million dollar P&Ls for an array of product categories, programs, and brands (Appliances, MyWay, PLCC, Perigold, etc.)
  • Design and run experiments: generate hypotheses, design tests, set KPIs and create execution plans that will be run across all available sales channels. Partner with analytics on measurement and reporting of your initiatives
  • Partner cross functionally: join forces with sales, marketing, data science, engineering, category and a number of other teams to execute on your strategic visions to drive revenue
  • Operate a start-up within Wayfair: we’re a new team within the organization and we’re built to be extremely nimble and innovative. As a result, you’ll need to wear multiple hats. What you’ll need

  • 5+ years of work experience
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Demonstrated track record of developing strategies, driving tangible results across teams in an ambiguous environment, leveraging data from multiple sources to inform overarching strategy
  • Ability to build strong relationships with a wide audience of senior executives, cross functional partners and sales teams in the field
  • Ability to develop and sell innovative ideas and articulate them clearly and proficiently across the organization to those both junior and senior to you
  • Ability to draw insights with data / strong analytical skills. Fluency in excel / comfort with data analysis required and experience with SQL a plus
  • Comfort in a highly ambiguous, constantly changing environment. We are building a lot from the ground up so you’ll need to be comfortable starting with a blank slate
  • A tenacious, entrepreneurial and ownership mindset
  • A ‘get stuff done’ mentality and a highly collaborative attitude. You’ll need a willingness to roll up your sleeves, wear multiple hats, engage across multiple teams / agendas to align priorities 
  • A sense of humor, we like to laugh
