Senior Product Analyst, Customer Intelligence 

The Ad Tech and Customer Intelligence team manages and builds a best-in-class marketing technology stack.  From a recommendations engine, to DSP integrations, to a Data Management Platform – we are building an intelligent, efficient and automated tool set to assist our marketers and provide the most leverage possible.  This work stream takes full advantage of other proprietary systems to create a fast iteration cycle and easy development.

Nearly every facet of Wayfair utilizes the rich, historical data generated by our users to better understand the customer experience, make key business and marketing decisions, and report on the success of constant test iterations.  Being able to action of all of Wayfair’s customer data in meaningful ways and at the speed and scale the business demands is the core responsibility of the Customer Intelligence team. The data collected by this platform forms the bedrock of everything we do across Wayfair - from marketing, product recommendations and data science modeling to financial reporting.

As an analyst for the Customer Intelligence team, your job is to utilize technical skills, analytical expertise, problem solving abilities, and communication skills to optimize how the data is collected and organized. You will be an expert on the information collected and turning it into actionable, insightful data points for the entire company to use.

What You'll Do

  • Communicate (via verbal, written, and visual media) high-impact findings to business stakeholders
  • Collaborate with leaders of functional areas to identify the most impactful ways for data and analytics to drive decision making, find anomalies and accelerate growth.
  • Closely monitor performance daily, identify trends, opportunities for improvement and react to deviations quickly and strategically
  • Perform deep-dive analysis, including the application of advanced analytical techniques, to solve some of the more critical and complex business problems including customer identification, segmentation and targeting, and system performance.
  • Become a subject matter expert on multiple Wayfair data sets
  • Work cross-functionally with the Data Science, Marketing and Engineering teams to contribute to our continuous efforts to improve our customer’s experience
  • Work with large and complex SQL, Hive, Vertica databases
  • Designing and building reports, dashboards, and analyses in Excel, Python, SQL, and Tableau

What You'll Need

  • 2+ years of experience in an analytical role (e.g. marketing, finance, or consulting)
  • Experience writing complex SQL queries to gain business insights
  • Proficient knowledge of SQL (incl. Aggregate functions, joins, etc.) or other structured programming language(s) (e.g. Python, Java, C)
  • Hands-on experience conducting quantitative analyses on large data sets; experience with Excel (pivot tables, vlookup, etc. ) and Jupyter a plus.
  • Analytical, creative, and innovative approach to solving problems
  • Strong quantitative skills, comfortable navigating a data-driven business environment
  • Highly proficient with manipulating and visualizing data to slice data and tell your story in different ways and to different types of stakeholders. Ability to communicate complicated analyses to the layperson.
  • Ability to tackle several projects simultaneously and work well within a dynamic, fast-paced, and growing organization
  • Strong ideas and the ability to voice them but with a positive, people-oriented, and up-beat attitude
