The cost management team is looking for an analytical, strategically-minded individual to drive critical projects that improves efficiency and health of Wayfair’s financial systems. The role will be a key thought partner to product, operational finance and engineering team and will be responsible to
shepherd critical initiatives to execution. Financial data generated by our systems is critical for all the stakeholder to make optimal strategic
decisions. The right person will need to identify technological and operational improvements needed to improve system health. You should be able to explain complex business needs and problem solve with cross-functional teams in making better decisions. Individual must be self-motivated, work well cross-functionally, and comfortable working in the fast-paced environment

What You'll Do

• Develop holistic knowledge of key financial components and can explain it to stakeholders from diverse backgrounds
• Enhance financial status by monitoring financial trends and synthesize potential actions to management
• Identify opportunities to improve health of Wayfair’s proprietary financial systems and translate them to technological/operational investments required
• Able to analyze large datasets and build knowledge on key cost drivers in the areas of product, shipping, warehouse etc.
• Act as thought partner to product managers and engineers to help design and upgrade Wayfair financial systems
• Collaborate with business partners to execute on other new business initiatives, using data and critical thinking to inform decision making
• Report on monthly KPI’s to facilitate visibility into revenue or costs; elevate potential roadblocks to team leadership, and communicate overall status updates

What You'll Need

• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Finance, Accounting or Business
• 3+ years total work experience in FP&A, cost management, operational finance, supply chain is desired
• Strong analytical and conceptual problem-solving skills, comfortable in a data-driven business environment
• Ability to ‘tell the story’, persuasive communicator who can summarize and clearly articulate complex concepts to partners with diverse backgrounds, and leadership
• Expertise in Excel, experience in SQL preferred
• Ability to stay consistently positive, people-oriented and energetic
• Self-starter and ability to take end-to-end ownership of projects
• Proven ability to prioritize effectively, achieve commitments and deliver results
