Wayfair is looking for a driven, confident manager with strong client-handling & communication skills as well as proven expertise in the inventory management/supply chain arena who is excited to roll up her sleeves and help us building out the new Availability function within Wayfair’s CastleGate business. The mission objective is simple: devise, pilot and embed measures to support our supplier base in becoming better at managing their own inventory (so that Wayfair can serve its customers better). The path to getting there, however, is uncharted territory and we are seeking a strong co-explorer to forge a way forward here.

Responsibilities include:

  • Translate our Availability vision into concrete, executable action plans - working in tandem with Wayfair’s Head of Inventory Management and our large team of Operations account managers
  • Powerfully communicate & champion the Availability concept internally and towards our suppliers
  • Closely support supplier improvement efforts - both on the ground, as a respected thought and solution partner, and by facilitating expertise transfer to Operations account managers
  • Understand, adapt to and overcome obstacles & roadblocks
  • Constantly challenge & improve our approach and extend the scope of support we provide to suppliers deeper into the supply chain
  • Act as the seed for scaling up of the Availability function


  • Evidenced expertise in Inventory Management (mandatory) and preferably also wider Supply Chain topics
  • Proven track record of delivering impact & execution success in cross-functional, complex projects
  • Evidenced expertise in Supply Chain and/or Inventory Management (ideally, both)
  • Strong conceptional abilities, including impactful communication and persuasion skills
  • Previous work experience with a strong focus on quantitative & analytical work, incl. advanced experience with Excel required (SQL knowledge a plus but not a must)
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in a quantitative subject
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements & role definition; position involves travel
