Network DevOps Engineer

Wayfair operates a fast growing infrastructure stack featuring a variety of cutting edge technologies as we build our hybrid cloud, and we’re looking for you to help us get even better! Our role is to streamline and automate as much as possible to enable cloud-scale growth. Our team has a presence in both Boston and Berlin, supporting our core regions of operation. We’re looking for experienced infrastructure engineers who want to build that next-gen environment that’s automation heavy and as dynamic as possible. This role is an opportunity to build a better way of doing things.

What You'll Do

  • Automate or streamline operational tasks within the infrastructure
  • Improve monitoring and alerting to catch (and fix) issues before they cause impact
  • Connect the dots between compute, storage, and network
  • Write and refine our troubleshooting guides and documentation
  • Collaborate with Berlin half of the team

What You'll Need

  • 2+ years experience working with networking technologies (Cisco experience preferred!)
  • Experience with scripting & DevOps tools - i.e. Python, Ansible, Terraform
  • Knowledge and understanding of how the full infrastructure stack interrelates
  • Excellent communication skills including ability to translate between “Engineering” and “Business” with a variety of stakeholders
  • Experience building and deploying enterprise scale networks
  • In-depth knowledge of networking protocols - TCP/IP, VLAN, VxLAN
  • Network & network security gear - Cisco ACI, ASA, route/switch
  • Experience automating and scripting operations within the infrastructure stack
  • Unix/Linux/Windows scripting and management experience
  • Experience with GCP, AWS, or Azure a plus
  • How container scheduler frameworks tie into the infrastructure stack
  • Data storage infrastructures such as DellEMC, NetApp, HP
  • Monitoring platforms: SolarWinds, LogicMonitor, DataDog, or similar
  • Logging platforms: Kibana or Splunk
  • ServiceNOW or similar ticketing platforms
