Performance Manager, WDN Strategic Initiatives

The Speed-Field Enablement Team is responsible for transforming operations to achieve fast delivery guarantee in the Wayfair Delivery Network. Our team drives the design of new operational processes and influences the development of new systems and tools to support strategic initiatives. We are also responsible for driving the implementation and performance of these new tools and processes. We collaborate closely with several cross-functional stakeholders to achieve this, including product management, field operations, and transportation teams.

What you will do

  • Analyze key performance metrics to root cause performance issues and drive change
  • Build strong relationships with fulfillment and middle/final mile operations teams and collaborate to improve their operational performance
  • Report performance trends and improvements to senior management
  • Scope and drive projects for the development of tools and processes which make our team and field operations teams more efficient (and effective)
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to define requirements for software projects and new operational processes
  • Drive field operations’ adoption of new processes, tools, and technology
  • Work cross functionally with groups company-wide, including Product Management, Transportation, Warehouse Fulfillment, and Middle and Final Mile operations
  • Travel to our fulfilment centers and middle/final mile operations to view their operations first hand
  • Maintain subject matter expertise in the operation to assist stakeholders in understanding operational and workflow changes

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • MBA a plus
  • 4+ years of e-commerce, operations, or management consulting experience
  • Innovative problem-solving skills – dissect and determine root causes of problems, and implement solutions
  • Track record of taking on big challenges and delivering despite obstacles and limited resources
  • Articulate and persuasive communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Track record of successful negotiation and relationship management skills
  • Ability to hit the ground running – a confident, entrepreneurial self-starter
  • Demonstrated senior presence, recognized as an effective manager. Experience managing others preferred
  • Ability to manage and prioritize projects, and to delegate tasks appropriately
  • Experience in business and data analytics, Excel, SQL
