Out of Berlin, the Payments team drives globally the product and engineering work needed to ensure the best possible payment experience for all Wayfair customers across all geos, platforms, and customer segments. At the same time, we help the business achieve its profitability goals by making smart decisions on how to optimize our payment processes and integrations.

From standard reporting, to more complicated predictions models, analytics insights into payments activities  are key to support the decision making process for the entire Payments team. You’ll help to shape and prioritize the group’s strategic activities, understanding which areas to focus on and how our changes are impacting customers and business metrics.


What You’ll Do

  • Drive the agenda to define and monitor the main KPIs and operational metrics, ensuring the Analytics team is set up in the best possible way to gather data and share learnings that will guide the prioritization for the entire payments team
  • Define and own the analytics roadmap for the payments team, working closely with the product and business leadership to identify the right areas of opportunity, proactively communicate key insights and actionable recommendations
  • Managine, mentor and develop a group of analysts, structuring the processes that will guide them to prioritize their work, ensuring they are working on the areas with the biggest impact for both our customers and for the business
  • Ensure the team’s understanding of the payments world keeps improving over time, covering any gaps that might exist (possibly also in your payments knowledge)
  • Work closely with the engineering and analytics team to clarify the infrastructure and data architecture needs that will enable th e team to work more efficiently and with more autonomy
  • Provide access for anyone in the broader payments team and our partners to access data and gather insights in a self-service way
  • Own the definition of a framework to optimize payments routing to maximize authorization rates and minimize processing costs
  • Build trustful and open relationships with internal key stakeholders and external payment providers to ensure effective and fast collaboration, while also improving data access and quality
  • Overseeing the development of analytic models that drive insights into payments behavior
  • Proactively identify areas in which analytics efforts can produce a strong added value


What You’ll Need

  • Extensive Analytics / Business Intelligence experience 
  • Track record of successfully leading high performing analytics teams, preferably in a B2C environment
  • Excellent SQL skills; Experience with Python, Tableau a plus
  • Strong stakeholder management experience
  • BA in computer science, economics, or other quantitative discipline
  • Experience working and collaborating on a global scale a strong plus
