We are looking for a proven leader who will manage the team responsible for driving operational excellence for our operations at all home delivery sites.  This person will be responsible for owning the implementation of process and development of all functions within our final mile delivery operations, including warehousing, delivery drivers, customer support  and leadership. This individual will be strategic, process driven, and team oriented with an entrepreneurial and scrappy approach to problem solving. This candidate must be able to thrive in an extremely fast-paced environment.

What you will do:

  • Influence all positions within our final mile terminal operations
  • Drive Wayfair culture in terminals and manage through direct reports
  • Manage a team of specialists by having regularly scheduled check-ins, goal-setting, aiding in prioritization, and consistent professional development discussions
  • Identify & correct operational deficiencies utilizing available metrics and observations
  • Prioritize operational needs and deploys resources as needed
  • Drive and execute operational standardization across network
  • Lead a 3-4 week onboarding for Terminal Managers & Wayfair Delivers Delivery Managers using classroom and on-the-job training methods in addition to fundamental leadership training
  • Measure pre & post learning retention for Terminal Managers and WD Delivery Managers
  • Partner with cross functional teams to project manage and prepare for new final mile building launches
  • Synergize onboarding and process implementation to lead launches of new final mile buildings
  • Conducts operational assessments and effectively communicate upward and downward on findings, onboarding progress, gaps, action plans, etc
  • Provides critical site support as needed (Ability to run a terminal on a moments notice)
  • Drives and executes large scale process change and improvement
  • Drive consistency and execution among Terminals & their operations.
  • Measures regional training participation & adherence
  • Measures team performance to provide development opportunities and coach accordingly
  • Possesses ability to identify inefficiencies and trends, define problem and create possible solutions in partnership with leadership team
  • Analyze KPIs to identify opportunities & strategize an action plan for deployment
  • Consults with development team on identified learning needs
  • Use results as barometer. Develop metrics and indicators of success.
  • We are a field based team - Travel ~75% of time is anticipated

  • Google Suite &  Microsoft Office Expert – you’re always being asked, “How did you do that?” when you’re working in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel)
  • Detail-oriented and organized – you have an eye for detail and remember to cross your “T’s” and dot your “I’s.” While training, they are able to maintain focus and patience with trainees
  • Flexible and quick on your feet – you are comfortable answering questions or always finding out. You respond to change in a positive manner

  • The ability to facilitate classes
  • 3-5 years Warehousing and Logistics & Supply Chain Experience
  • Experience in Warehouse Management Systems
  • Strong Negotiation Skills
  • Analytics experience (basic Excel reporting and analysis)
  • Extremely organized, meticulous, and detail oriented
  • Experience with:
    • HTML
    • Adobe Photoshop
    • Adobe Captivate
    • SQL or other database querying experience
  • Project Management & Lean Theory
  • Organizational Development
  • BA/BS, with strong academic record or equivalent experience
