Manager, Global Logistics

Wayfair's International Supply Chain (ISC) group is building its own freight forwarder organization for its suppliers. Drayage refers to all activities regarding shipping a container to/from a port and the supplier's (and/or Wayfair’s) warehouse. The Commercial Excellence team is responsible for acquiring, building and maintaining all partner relations relative to this program. The goal of this team is to redefine drayage partner management for a rapidly scaling business and bring digital solutions to reduce cost and increase supply chain visibility. After successfully piloting and scaling the ocean business (port to port) in the US, Wayfair is looking to build out the drayage business.

What You'll Do

  • Manage the full scope of partner relationships for drayage in North America and EU
  • Oversee selection and negotiation process with suppliers
  • Coordinate with operations to ensure seamless and cost-optimal outcomes for the full supply chain
  • Work cross functionally with engineering, operations and business development to Identify and develop tools for supporting scale up 
  • Support in select strategic activities, such as market research, pricing strategies and identifying/contracting new business partners
  • Build and scale business processes for new products/opportunities
  • Identify key business metrics for reporting and chart process for regular and accurate reporting

What You'll Need

  • Track record of success in top tier-consulting OR experience in the logistics/supply chain field at a startup/rapid growth environment
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a fast moving environment with a certain level of ambiguity
  • Experience in negotiations/sales processes with external suppliers/vendors
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical, creative and innovative approach to problem solving
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional partners, internally and externally
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to work well in a fast paced, data driven environment 
  • Willingness to travel a few times throughout the year to meet with international colleagues across the ISC group
  • Bachelor's degree in Business - focus on Supply Chain a plus
