The Accounts Receivable Team Europe fulfils many different functions that present the opportunity to improve both Customer Experience and processes in regards to invoicing and internal tools. Our work is focused on 4 main areas:

Customers: Our goal is to have no customer experience any refund or payment issue post check-out. Here we have a real opportunity to drive customer satisfaction and as a result, revenue growth

Reconciliations: We make sure that all bank transactions are recorded correctly and payment strips in orders reflect the actual occurrences with our payment processors

Suppliers: Castlegate and Oceanfreight are one of the most exciting growth stories of recent Wayfair times, and we are on the Frontlines dealing with all invoicing and Revenue Reporting in Europe

Process Improvements: We are never done, there is always room for improvement especially when it comes to Customer Satisfaction and utilising our and our colleagues time more efficiently

What You'll Do

  • You will be the sole owner of one of our European Bank Reconciliations, making sure that all transactions including deposits and supplier payments are correctly recorded in our General Ledger on a daily basis
  • Assist Customers and Customer Service by solving any queries that may arise out of a Customer contact related to a payment or refund via Finance Tickets
  • Liaise with our payment processors - Klarna, Barclays, Worldpay, Paypal - on any queries concerning customer deposits or settlements
  • Solve any variances between transactions transmitted by payment processors and transactions recorded in our orders
  • Provide follow-on training and guidance on non-standard customer issues to Customer Service Specialised Teams
  • Define new processes helping our customer to have as frictionless an experience as possible when it comes to payment/refund queries
  • Work with engineering teams to optimise our internal tools, for example the manual refund tool

What You'll Need

  • Fluency in German
  • Analytical with a strong technical aptitude
  • Experience with MS Office with excellent knowledge of Excel
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • You are passionate about your work and are always aiming to improve your skills and our processes
  • Knowledge of EU Payment Methods an advantage
  • Great organisational skills
  • You have the ability to think both creatively and critically; you’re willing to think outside the box, while also fairly evaluating all solutions in making strategic decisions
  • You are highly motivated and show considerable energy & drive
  • Experience in SQL Database or any programming language a distinct advantage
