Head of Product Analytics, Personalized Recommendations
Wayfair Analytics is the engine that powers an enterprise obsessed with data. The Wayfair website generates over 100M clicks from the millions of customers that visit our sites every day to discover and purchase home goods. The Product Analytics team is focused on understanding and optimizing customer behavior as a key enabler for the company to move fast and iterate quickly on big business problems.
One of Wayfair’s key strategic priorities is to build out our personalized recommendations engine throughout the customer journey to ensure a best in class shopping experience. We have invested heavily in an advanced data science model that allows us to provide a personalized customer experience for placements across the site including product, content and media. This leader needs to be comfortable leading at the intersection of data science, machine learning, and product management to build and lead a team of analytics professionals that can help us to better understand and iterate on the personalized customer experience.
This leader will work in partnership with marketing, product management and data science to build a roadmap, develop KPIs, design a testing strategy, and execute with the goal of evolving our personalization and recommendations capabilities – across the entire site including product, content and media placement. This is an ideal opportunity for analytics leader seeking to simultaneously make an impact to the customer experience and bottom line in a highly visible and rapidly evolving area of ecommerce.
What You'll Do
• Own and develop the strategic analytic agenda in partnership with product management to unlock insights and guide our strategy– everything from identifying, testing and optimizing new features to broad level strategic direction that is grounded in evidence and heavy analytical rigor
• Influence executive management and partners to define and execute against an analytics and site testing roadmap
• Proactively identify areas where analytical efforts can produce a strong business value-add
• Effectively balance short-term needs with longer-term initiatives
• Develop organizational designs to optimally serve stakeholder groups and business units
• Build and lead teams responsible for monitoring customer behavior on our websites to identify and resolve issues, executing the strategic testing, web analytics and insights agenda
• Hire, manage and mentor leaders and leaders of leaders
• Be a thought leader on analytics topics for various company initiatives
• Work with the Data Engineering leadership to define the business requirements for infrastructure needs
What You'll Need
• Proven experience and passion for working across functions and with c-level leaders, synthesizing multiple points of view and owning a coherent action plan, all with a strong business acumen and ability to influence others
• Excellent communication and data presentation skills covering objectives, plans, status, roadblocks, and results
• Experience building and managing high performing analytics teams
• Strong business acumen, analytical skills and technical abilities along with problem solving skills
• Experience with experimental design and/or statistical analysis to drive business decision making
• Bachelors in Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, MIS, or other quantitative discipline; Masters preferred
• Past experience with SQL or structured computer programming language
• Experience with Tableau, Python, R, SAS or BI software (SSAS, Microstrategy, Cognos) would be a plus
