Our mission

In 2019, immigrants worldwide sent over $550 billion home to family and friends, dwarfing foreign governmental aid. In the age of cheap, quick transfers through services like Paypal and Venmo, these people are trekking to stores to pay fees averaging over 7% for transfers that typically take 24 hours or more.

Sendwave's mission is to change that by making sending money anywhere in the world easy and affordable. Since 2014, our app has allowed diaspora members from several African nations - and more recently Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, saving our users over 70% relative to Western Union and MoneyGram.

We are looking to rapidly expand around the world in the next year. That's where you come in...

How you'll help us achieve it

Day-to-day you’ll work with a cross-functional group of engineers, data scientists, marketers and designer to understand opportunities, spec out potential solutions and prioritize improvements to our iOS and Android apps with such goals as: improving conversion or retention rates, adding new growth opportunities in the form of supporting new markets, making it faster and easier for an existing user to manage their transactions etc...

To achieve objectives like these, you’ll work hand-in-hand with the engineering lead on the team to ensure that sprints are planned, backlogs groomed, and that the engineers are able to operate as effectively as possible. You’ll work with the rest of the product team to ensure that your roadmap is aligned with the overall goals of the company and product. Together with our designer you’ll conduct user research. You’ll frame questions and use our various analytic tools / platforms including Heap and Periscope to answer them. You’ll define, setup and run experiments both natively in-app as well as with Braze. You’ll work with support to understand issues users are facing and prioritize solving them.

Your answer will be maintained confidentially and not be seen by selecting officials or anyone else involved in making personnel decisions.
