Warp is modernizing the command line experience to make it more intuitive and collaborative for modern developers and teams, turning the terminal into a real platform to enable engineering workflows. We’re hiring a Senior Product Manager to drive Warp towards becoming a viable team product. You will also optimize retention and engagement. 

This is an opportunity to work on arguably the most important developer tool ever: the terminal. Your work will have an immediate and tangible impact on the business—you will help us ship our first team product. As the first PM, you will lay the foundation for enterprise product processes and monetization.

You will be part of the Growth team and report to the Growth Lead. The Growth team is responsible for driving user, team, and revenue growth. 

As a Senior Product Manager, these are the areas you’ll get to drive…

  • You will drive the team product at Warp. You will interface with external teams and enterprises to iterate on the team product and ship the first ever collaborative terminal.
  • You will play a key role in shaping the go-to-market strategy for Warp. You will have the opportunity to work on pricing, packaging, and positioning. 
  • You will drive on product-led growth projects and engineering-driven marketing efforts. You will identify and pitch growth features in the product and work in cross-functional project pods to build them out.
  • You will drive on user research processes across all features.

You may be a good fit if...

  • You understand the difference between leading features focused on the user and leading features focused on the business, and how they impact each other.
  • You have experience interfacing with external customers and translating their feedback into the product roadmap.
  • You have working knowledge of the processes used to price and package a product.
  • You’re very familiar with the concept of “bringing the team with you” from an early idea onward. You have experience collaborating cross-functionally with marketing, engineering, and design.
  • You orient towards getting user feedback as early as possible.
  • You’re comfortable with analyzing data and building dashboards using an analytics tool like Amplitude, Mixpanel, or Looker
  • Bonus:
    • You are a terminal user.
    • You have software engineering experience.
    • You have experience running design partnerships.
    • You have experience founding a company to reach product-market fit.
    • You have prior experience in developer tools.
    • You have experience setting up a data stack or managing a growth forecast.

Salary Transparency

When we find the right person, we try to put our best foot forward with an offer that excites you. We consider what you’d like to be paid, the skills and experience you bring, what similar jobs pay, and make sure there’s equal pay for equal work among those you’ll be working with. The budgeted compensation amount for this role is targeted at $150,000 - $205,000. Final salary is determined by multiple factors including your experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.

This is just the start, as our plan is to build out a set of experiences in the terminal that don’t exist today like collaboration, environment sharing, rich data types and more.

The Opportunity

The terminal is one of very few tools used by every developer every day, which makes it an ideal gateway to improving all sorts of developer activities. We believe there is an opportunity to build a unicorn-sized business improving the command-line. Our strategy is bottom-up developer adoption, followed by driving revenue through enterprise sales and distribution partnerships. 

To start, our goal is to become the everyday terminal of choice with individual users – immediately usable as a backwards-compatible terminal replacement with the developer’s shell of choice. We have built a closed-source server, which will implement all of the cloud-enabled features. These features will invite users to share their work with others, driving growth and encouraging collaboration. We’ll also focus on building a community and an ecosystem of terminal plugins and apps, creating network effects.

At higher levels of team penetration, we will offer an enterprise plan with features around privacy, security and environment management (e.g. secure distribution and management of API keys). These larger enterprise plans will be the ultimate driver of revenue, along with potential distribution deals for companies that see CLI integrations as a way to reach new customers.
