In this role, you’ll design sophisticated data models, advocate for data governance best practices, and own the tools used by analysts across the organization. What you’ll do:
Apply the techniques of Kimball-style dimensional data modeling in an Agile environment and own reporting initiatives from inception to delivery
Work collaboratively with a Product Manager, Engineering Manager, and other Engineers to solve complex data problems across a business that spans e-commerce, supply chain, marketing, retail, customer service, product development, and more
Develop bulk and real-time transformations using modern cloud databases
Ask thoughtful questions and listen carefully to get to know your business partners’ vocabulary, problems, goals, and constraints
Collaborate in the technical leadership of the team through writing, technical guidance, planning, and other efforts to help guide the team to success
Who you are:
Experience deploying dimensional models across a wide variety of domains
Top-notch communication skills—you’re an empathetic listener and a proactive communicator both in person and writing
A CS/STEM degree or comparable skills and experience
Fluency in SQL, with 4+ years of Kimball-style dimensional data modeling experience
The ability to work comfortably and confidently with the tools of modern software engineering—whether that’s working at the command line, using version control, writing tests, or performing code review
Not on the Office of Inspector General’s List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE)
Developing, debugging, and deploying infrastructure within AWS or a similar cloud environment
Using Looker, DBT, Airflow, and or related software
Building retail data models
Familiarity with data governance, HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA
