VSCO is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to oversee our engineering costs and vendor management efforts. You will focus primarily on AWS cost management in collaboration with various engineering teams and the finance team. You will help identify areas of our infrastructure that could be more cost-efficient and help the engineering teams define practices for better cost reporting, management, and planning.
The day-to-day
Help track and drive projects to achieve our infrastructure cost savings goals
Build a strong partnership with finance and engineering teams, and provide them with valuable cost-related insights, metrics, and system resource usage
Collaborate with engineering teams, vendors, and our finance team to define a plan and strategy to get more comprehensive and automated cost reports and find opportunities for better cost-efficiency
Build capabilities to help engineering teams understand their utilization and create weekly usage reports to identify outliers and plan remediation
Manage and optimize our AWS reservations utilization to ensure continued cost efficiency and spend optimization as we scale
Partner with our vendors and engineering teams to understand our usage and find opportunities for better cost-efficiency
Qualifications
4+ years of Technical Program Management experience or relevant experience
Hands-on experience managing AWS costs, working experience with Cost Explorer, Costs Reports, Reserved Instances and/or Savings Plans
Excellent written and verbal communication
Ability to work cross functionally
Experience developing processes that are inclusive of the needs and requirements of different cross-functional groups
Nice to have
Proven track record in learning new technologies quickly
Experience working with cross-functional teams with different priorities and timelines
Strong analytical skills to implement and interpret data-driven analysis while keeping the big picture strategy in mind
Working knowledge of AWS services, and ability to estimate the complexity of a potential engineering task
A deep appreciation for photography and/or other aspects of the arts
