About the role:

A Business Development Manager within a SaaS company is focused on top of the funnel lead generation and relationship bu Your role will involve talking to, meeting, and emailing prospective customers to establish if Voyager Portal could add value to their business operations. In this role, you will be utilizing a range of technologies to support your search, qualification, and validation processes. You will be working hand-in-hand with our Enterprise Sales Managers, Sales Engineers, and Content Marketing team to provide insights on what future customers' challenges are in the market. Once leads are qualified you will be making introductions to the Sales Managers whom you will shadow until the deal is closed.

If you are from the industry and have never worked for a SaaS company, Voyager Portal will provide hands-on and formal training to bring you up to speed on how to be an effective BDM within the tech industry

What you will do:

  • Work directly with the sales team to support the execution of sales strategy
  • Identify target accounts and convert them into qualified prospects
  • Develop a deep understanding of our customer's markets, trends, and macro influences
  • Cold call, meet or email potential sales leads or prospects
  • Support top of the funnel sales initiatives including content generation, providing demos and initiating customer discovery calls
  • Invest time to fully understand the product capabilities and roadmap
  • Communicate clearly the Voyager value proposition and how it relates to the customer
  • Support the creation of content alongside our Content Marketing Manager
  • Conduct industry research

What we are looking for:

  • Min 5+ yrs experience in maritime logistics or an adjacent industry
  • Active listeners who can ask the right questions to get to the core of a potential customers pain points
  • Strong communicators
  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are comfortable hitting quotas
  • You are capable of working independently within minimal management supervision
  • Confidence and professionalism in front of clients
  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, business, finance, or engineering is desirable
  • Intellectual curiosity and love for learning new things
  • Fluency in English

Bonus if you have this:

  • You have experience in commodities/trading/maritime/supply chain/logistics
  • Fluency in another language
