As part of the Vox Media Experiential Team you will work across many different custom advertiser events and tent-pole events including, but not limited to Code Conference, Vulture Festival, Sundance Film Festival, How I Get It Done events, Pivot Schooled and new franchises under development. 

What We’re Looking For:

We’re always looking for support on events during our busy seasons on a freelance basis. The type of people we are looking for are self-starters who thrive in a collaborative environment.  Creative thinkers who can develop experiential concepts and activations and build proposals that meet our brand and client’s goals—concepts that become next-level impactful moments. 

What You’ll Do:

  • High touch client and internal stakeholder management during post sale for an event including leading meetings and correspondence to articulate program details, deliverables and program elements 
  • Budget development and management including but not limited to: client management, vendor/venue outreach and contracting, timeline and deliverables, oversee staff and extended production team
  • Work closely with marketing and promotion lead, insights and data teams on strategy and timeline to create targeted guest list and ensure strong attendance 
  • Work closely with design on the production of event-related creative elements (event RSVP page, invitations, ads, email blasts/newsletters, social media creative) and oversee all creative deliverables
  • Lead internal status meetings with internal stakeholders
  • Lead client status meetings
  • Develop run of show and production schedule 
  • Be on-site for the event, walkthroughs, load in and load out to oversee 
  • Work with marketing team to build post-event wrap report, surveys as needed 
  • Other production manager services for the event, as may be requested by company and/or main contact.


What You'll Bring: 

  • Familiarity with Vox Media brands 
  • 2+ years experience working in media 
  • Strong understanding and interest in current events, pop-culture, trends and innovations with the ability to translate that knowledge into experiences and revenue-driving opportunities
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and juggle multiple projects at once while paying close attention to deadlines and details
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Strong skill set to come up with creative/out-of-the-box concepts, build proposals, and potentially execute when they sell through
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple departments and understand the value of working as a team
