Vox is looking for an Archive Producer for the second season of our Netflix docuseries “Explained.” The job will involve working closely with Producers, Vox’s legal team and the Junior Archive Producer to make our show possible: finding and acquiring footage, securing clearances, negotiating licenses, reviewing scripts, screening episodes, tracking use of third party material, and staying on budget. Our show relies heavily on archival, and candidates should have a passion for old and unusual footage, and bringing images and clips to the screen that viewers won’t have seen before. Candidates should also have a familiarity with major archives, and the timelines and prices associated with certain kinds of footage. We need someone with great communication skills, who can coordinate between the show’s creative staff and Vox’s legal team, can stay organized while juggling multiple stories, and enjoys working in a fast-paced deadline-driven television environment.
The job is full-time and in-house for six months, based in New York City.
What you’ll do:
Acquire archival footage on a range of topics, from the arts to science and technology
Secure clearances and negotiating licenses
Keep track of third party material
Keep track of archival costs
What you’ll bring
Five+ years experience working in licensing and clearances
Experience in a fast-paced news environment

Excellent communication skills
Excellent organizational skills
Adobe Premiere skills a plus
Please submit your application before Friday, Friday, January 4.
