About the group

The Vonage AI group develops ML/AI-driven solutions that are seamlessly integrated into Vonage products. These solutions enhance internal optimization and productivity as well as provide value to our external customers.

The group has spearheaded various projects, including a low-code/no-code process orchestration tool and a virtual assistant conversation designer. These tools enable both developers and non-developers to create and deploy virtual assistants that communicate in natural language via channels such as telephony, SMS, WhatsApp, and HTTP. Additionally, the group develops products that are focused on processing and extracting insights from data in audio, text, and video formats, providing different ways to interact with the data.

Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Product to lead our AI product team, drive product vision, and deliver world-class AI products that delight our customers and create business value.

You will be responsible for setting the strategic direction, overseeing the development, and ensuring the successful execution of our AI product portfolio. This role requires a deep understanding of AI technologies, market trends, and customer needs. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing and scaling AI products, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally to drive product success.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Vision and Leadership:
    • Develop and communicate a clear product vision and strategy for the AI product portfolio.
    • Align product goals with the overall company strategy and objectives.
    • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of product managers and other product-related roles.
    • Lead the operational and explorational efforts of the product team.
  2. Product Development:
    • Oversee the entire product lifecycle from ideation to launch and beyond.
    • Prioritize product features and capabilities based on market analysis, customer feedback, and business objectives.
    • Collaborate with engineering, data science, and design teams to ensure timely and high-quality product delivery.
  3. Market and Customer focus:
    • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities and threats.
    • Build strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure product-market fit.
  4. Performance Monitoring and Optimization:
    • Define and track key performance metrics to measure product success and drive continuous improvement.
    • Develop pricing strategies and business models to maximize product revenue and profitability.
  5. Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work closely with marketing, sales, and support teams to ensure effective product launches and go-to-market strategies.
    • Communicate product plans, progress, and performance to senior leadership and other stakeholders.
  6. Compliance and Ethics:
    • Ensure AI products comply with relevant regulations, standards, and ethical guidelines, address ethical considerations and biases in AI algorithms and systems.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is preferred. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
  • Experience:
    • 8+ years of product management experience, with at least 4 years in a leadership role within the AI/ML domain.
    • Proven track record of launching and managing successful AI products.
    • Strong technical background with a solid understanding of AI/ML technologies and their applications.
  • Skills:
    • Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
    • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
    • Proficiency in product management tools and methodologies.
