Why this role matters

As a Vonage Database Engineer, you will be part of our backend team, playing a major role in designing and architecting the database platform and will work in AWS cloud with different services like RDS Aurora, ElastiCache, MSK, DynamoDB, EC2, S3 and MongoDB.

What you will do

You will be responsible for database tuning and query performance, architecture and implementation of high availability strategies, database schema change automation and monitoring. We challenge Engineers to get into the boots of a platform engineer and work with infrastructure as code, automating the creation of databases in the cloud.

What you will bring:

At least 3 years of production experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL & MongoDB (installation, upgrades, tuning and replication).
Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Ruby or other.
Deep knowledge on queries execution concepts in relational databases.
Experience with cloud services (AWS).
Experience with NoSQL, Redis, AWS RDS Aurora, ELK Stack, Kafka streaming, DynamoDB, Snowflake or similar.
Experience with Data ETL, data warehousing, performance profiling and analysis.
Knowledge of database operations (monitoring, data migrations, backup & recovery).
Very good English skills.
