Why this role matters

As the product manager for Engagement, SDKs, and Serverless you will lead a varied set of products, all intended to make the dream of seamless user engagement a reality for Vonage’s customers. You'll conceive and work with multiple teams to realize innovative solutions for developers across multiple platforms from mobile to serverless. You’ll be in charge of executing and continuously developing our product strategy for runtime services, In-app communications, and conversational solutions, tying all of them together to enable our business customers to create their own user engagement orchestration.

What you will do

  • Own and maintain the product roadmap and go to market strategy for the mix of products
  • Formulate the product requirements, and use cases for the various products
  • Document development requirements for, and work with, the Engineering team to build deliverables
  • Actively collaborate with Product, Engineering, Operations, Finance & Legal colleagues to design and implement the best solutions to achieve business goals, while switching between managing detailed scopes and interfaces for each product and planning big-picture, directional strategy moves for the org.
  • Proactively identify and manage dependencies with other product teams and between the engineering teams you work with.
  • Assist in driving the go-to-market strategy for products and features and help manage the cross-functional implementation of the plan with colleagues in sales, marketing, and developer relations
  • Meet customers, prospects, and partners regularly to incubate ideas and validate product choices
  • Integrate customer feedback and performance metrics continuously into plans and work to validate key assumptions in your planning
  • Formulate a first-class customer experience and work with other teams to realize this vision

What you will bring

  • Consistent track record working in and delivering complex multi-stream projects
  • Highly analytical thinking and ability to influence organization processes through facts, insights, and great presentation abilities
  • Learning mindset: not constrained to use only one set of technologies from previous experience; open to different methods to achieve business goals
  • Experience in rolling up your sleeves at start-ups or an ambitious track record at a large corporation or relevant parallel

What is required for application

Required

  • Minimum 3 years experience in a relevant sector and function
  • Minimum 3 years of Product or Operational Management experience
  • Previous software development experience at some point in your career (strongly preferred)
  • Strong knowledge and experience in areas such as API management, mobile SDKs, serverless
  • Experience in the cloud industry (CPaaS preferred)
  • Proven experience working as a product manager or in a technical capacity within the API realm
  • Ability to work on multiple initiatives at once, prioritize and execute a large number of tasks, and resolve issues quickly
  • Strong communicator, skilled at aligning business stakeholders and managing shifting priorities
  • Methodical and diligent with outstanding planning abilities
  • Problem-solving and a positive attitude in a fast pace environment
  • Autonomous personality and interested in taking initiatives and leading on projects

 

Preferred:

  • Computer Science degree or similar technical qualification or related field
  • Experience with Agile methodologies & tools (e.g. Scrum, Kanban)
  • Experience using Jira, Confluence, and project management tools
  • Experience with a large volume data industry such as:
    • Telecommunications / Contact Center (UCaaS, CCaaS)
    • Enterprise SaaS such as CRM, Analytics, Campaign Mgt, Collaboration
    • Enterprise communications esp VoIP, Messaging, Unified Communications
    • Payments, Pricing, Ecommerce or micro-payments
    • Music or Entertainment with large volume transactions
  • Experience in integration with CRM, CDP, and customer engagement systems
  • Strong knowledge and opinions on customer engagement for services and sales industries
