Why this role matters
Vonage is seeking for a Senior UC engineer (UCaaS) that is well versed with VoIP technologies and BroadWorks based UCaaS platform. In this role, the engineer is responsible for all the activities involved in growing and maintaining the enterprise UCaaS platform. Some of these activities include maintenance, upgrades, troubleshooting, monitoring, building, capacity planning, documenting, mentoring junior members and cross-team collaboration. The Engineer is expected to support on-call responsibilities during normal business and after hours. The Engineer is also responsible for leading large projects and closely working with customers, product, support and other external stakeholders.

What you will do
Independently manage large and complex projects requiring high levels of functional integration.
Perform lifecycle management of unified communications features, applications, related voice systems and network equipment.
Play a consultative role, helping put in place the right people, processes and tools to define, execute and deliver project success.
Monitor communications and utilization trends, making design and implementation recommendations to improve services and scale infrastructure.
Support the installation of new or modified hardware, operating systems and software applications.
Provide technical guidance and advice to less experienced team members and to colleagues on cross-functional teams.
What you will bring
At least 7+ years of experience in geo-redundant architecture, deployment, maintenance and troubleshooting of BroadWorks based UCaaS platform.
Hands-on experience working with SBCs, WebRTC, soft clients, device, call recording, voicemail and other ancillary services.
Strong understanding of OCI, XSI, CTI and other type of integrations
Advanced knowledge in all the protocols used in VoIP environment such as SIP (using UDP, TCP & TLS), RTP, SRTP, RTCP, DNS, DHCP and NTP
Ability to isolate issues by troubleshooting Device, BroadWorks, access SBCs, peering SBCs, carrier and network across Vonage and customer environments.
Working knowledge of UNIX and Linux operating systems
Familiarity with scripting languages like shell, Python, PHP and Perl
Excellent communication skills, including writing, speaking and listening.
A strong desire to learn, build and grow.
Demonstrate sound judgment in problem solving, identification, troubleshooting and solutions
What is required for application
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related technical field.
Prior experience (7+ years) in a Communications Engineering or related position.
