At Vonage, we believe we’ve just scratched the surface of enabling developers to embed communications into any apps or devices using APIs. 

As a Ruby on Rails Developer in the Product & Developer Experience team at Vonage, your primary responsibilities will be to use a combination of insight and metric-driven decisions to support the needs of developers on the API Developer Platform. You’ll develop functionality for the publishing platform Station, help enhance other tooling, and contribute to a phenomenal overall developer experience.

You will be responsible for executing the development of Station and managing contributions from other team members and the open-source community. To give you an idea of the work you’ll be doing, this stream includes more details on the development of Station. Additionally, two of our significant projects last year were internationalizing our documentation and building a detailed feedback system. You’ll be working as part of a remote-first team that has years of experience with virtual collaboration across multiple countries and timezones.



What you will do

  • Develop and maintain the front and back end of the Station codebase
  • Integrate developer feedback continuously into your plans
  • Encourage people across the Vonage organization and the developer community to contribute to the API Developer Platform.

What you will bring

  • Occasionally share knowledge regarding your work at Vonage at events
  • Help with recruitment through referral of strong technical candidates for roles at Vonage
  • Contribute to the development of libraries and tooling

What is required for application


  • Empathy
  • Two years experience of developing web applications with Ruby / Ruby on Rails
  • Knowledge of Git and GitHub, Heroku


  • Experience with Open API Spec / API Blueprint / RAML
  • Experience with Webpacker and one or more of the following: React, Vue, or Angular
