Reporting directly to the CTO as part of his senior management team, this is a new role to provide the operational, strategic and financial analysis, reporting and support to enable the Engineering function to operate at maximum effectiveness.  

This person will bring a background of broad experience in technology, finance and ideally some strategy consultancy, at an operational level and the ability to work at a senior level, both with technology peers and cross-functionally in the business. Key will be a blend of strategy, finance, organisational, program management and influencing skills in an international environment.


Major Responsibilities 


  • Review, monitor and evaluate the operational and financial performance of all Engineering, BI and IT business units.
  • Manage the Engineering P&L, budgeting process, forecasting and reporting
  • Ensure operational planning and related systems and processes are developed, evaluated and delivered.
  • Interpret and evaluate function trends, including budget variance and key performance indicators, to identify and report on areas of risk and opportunity.
  • Manage and drive the cadence of operational and financial reporting for the function
  • Drive headcount / staffing plans for projects on a periodic / quarterly basis
  • Liaise with HR on hiring and reduction plans, track / measure org KPIs
  • Collaborate with TMO on tracking, measuring and completion of corporate strategic development programmes
  • Be the main liaison with Product, API, Applications businesses and Finance on cross-functional initiatives, budget planning, staffing allocation, project prioritization
  • Collaborate internally with all engineering leaders for project related activities and overall program management, ensure on-time delivery of projects and resource allocation exercises on a quarterly basis
  • Prepare ad-hoc board decks, Executive Leadership Team (ELT) materials
  • Serve as the Engineering voice in ELT forums and ensure right messaging and factual data is presented wrt Engineering initiatives
  • Build on and drive the sense of community within the CTO organization
  • Ensure practices and processes comply with regulatory policies and standard competitive practices.
  • Align and influence internal organizations and external partners in support of CTO’s strategy and direction.
  • Address and provide guidance in resolution of critical and complex business, functional and operational issues.
  • Oversee resolution of client and partner engagement and service issues.
  • Support CTO to ensure adequate current and future organization capability.

Key Experience & Skills

  • Background in and thorough understanding of the software engineering environment, OKR’s, metrics and processes 
  • Advanced experience in supporting corporate or business strategies through leveraging expertise and relationships organization-wide
  • Advanced understanding of financial planning, reporting and analysis, and costing/profitability methodologies and processes.
  • Strong analytical, planning and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent cross-organizational, project/program management and interpersonal skills.


  • Previous consulting experience, ideally in a leading strategy or top tier technology consulting firm
  • Experience of successfully operating in a multi-faceted role in a rapidly evolving environment
  • International/global experience
  • Ability to provide effective leadership by influencing, motivating and building support within the function  and across Vonage.
  • Strategic thinker, able to balance operational execution through the team to meet targets, with the ability to help define and lead the direction of the business.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, client relationship and analytical skills.
  • Strong time management, prioritisation and organization skills.

Location: We are open on location for this role, with a preference for Tel Aviv, Israel, East Coast US or Bay Area, but remote working from other locations across US & EMEA with proximity to a Vonage office will be considered.
