Why this role matters

Vonage Finance has gone through a period of rapid transformation having implemented a new ERP, upgraded billing systems along with aligning processes and procedures to our new organisational structure. As our transformation journey continues we are looking for an experienced Business Controller leading a team of 3 owning the revenue accounting for the Contact Centre product and supporting the Business CFO with full P&L and balance sheet analytics in liaison with the accounting teams on site and in the UK. This is a great opportunity for an ambitious, talented individual focused on relationship building efficiently scaling a growing business. This role is based in our Holmdel location but also requires frequent travel into our London and Basingstoke offices with members of the team being based overseas.



What you will do

·        Ownership over revenue accounting for Contact Centre product in line with US GAAP and IFRS

·        Business partner with general accounting teams to ensure integrity of full trial balance and question variances and inconsistencies across the P&L for the business

·        Support the Business CFO with optimising the go to market approach and customer life cycle economics

·        Continuously review and challenge Finance processes and activities from a control perspective, bringing forward improvement recommendations.

·        Work to develop and implement new, more efficient procedures to enhance departmental workflow and maintain high levels of accuracy.

·        Provide technical and business support to the Senior Leadership Team and progress towards the company’s strategic goals of global expansion

·        Optimise the use of Oracle Fusion, routinely challenging the potential for process automation and improvement.

·        Lead and coordinate monthly closing meetings to discuss variances and ensure that results are complete.

·        Ensure consistent application of Accounting policies and procedures.

·        Gather and prepare information for internal and external audit, tax and SEC compliance activities.

·        Provide mentorship to the team assisting with development and career progression


What you will bring

·   Advanced Excel user, comfortable with setting out Excel models and use it for streamlining processes

·   Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers

·   Strong planning and problem-solving skills

·   Strong written, verbal and presentation skills

·   Investigative with a robust nature, and able to challenge the Company management where approriate

·   Ability to:

o Lead by example and actively support a strong working culture of professionalism and respect for the broader Finance team.

o Work comfortably in a fast-paced, highly collaborative setting.

o Manage multiple priorities with accuracy and efficiency while meeting deadlines.

o Remain calm and composed during times of stress and uncertainty and inspire the same in the team.

What is required for application

·   Educated to degree level

·   CPA qualified with practice background in top 10 accounting firms

·   At least 5-10 years PQ experience preferably with recent commercial or controller experience in a senior leadership role

·   Experience accounting for activities in international markets

·   Public company experience and US GAAP knowledge preferred

·   Sense of humor – life is easier when you can have a laugh
