Voltron Data is an early-stage company creating high-performance data access and in-memory computing tools based on Apache Arrow to accelerate enterprise data analytics. We are a collection of open-source maintainers who have been driving open-source ecosystems over the last 15 years, particularly in the C++, Python, and R programming ecosystems.
We are assembling a global, diverse team to build a new foundation for data analytics with Apache Arrow. This foundation will usher in a wave of innovation in data processing that can take full advantage of the speed and efficiency offered by modern hardware.
We are looking for a detailed oriented Technical Project Manager to join the team. Reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer, you will be responsible for providing high level executive services to the CTO.

What you will be working on:

    • Act as first point of contact for all CTO inquiries and provide high touch service supporting team members
    • Manage calendars, coordinate internal and external meetings, arrange calls, etc
    • Maintain robust project schedule of all CTO meetings and communications, including deliverables, key dates, and critical path items
    • Coordinate extensive travel arrangements (domestic and international)
    • Ensure progress on priority work-streams, help build decision-making frameworks, deliverables, etc.
    • Work across teams to prepare briefings and coordinate research for meetings with partners and key leaders (e.g. identify goals and talking points, provide background on attendees, etc.)
    • Writing initial drafts of internal comms, or proofing and advising on content/communication

What you'll need:

    • Tech-savvy with a strong interest in using technology to improve work efficiency
    • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
    • Effective communicator with the ability to clearly and concisely articulate ideas, concepts, and proposals to different stakeholders
    • Someone with high integrity who can maintain complete confidentiality on all business matters
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Strong program management skills to drive multiple initiatives in a changing environment with limited supervision
    • Strong knowledge of google suite, particularly google slides
    • Experience supporting global Engineering teams
    • “Calm under fire” demeanor
    • Operational experience in a previous role
    • Ability to use GitHub
    • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hyper-growth environment
    • Data Science or Computer Science background / interest 

Additional Information:

For NYC-based applicants, the expected salary range is $108k to $135K + equity + benefits.

Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, training, and skill level, so may be higher or lower than what is shown on this posting.
