About the role: The Accounting Manager will develop and lead Vivvi’s accounting department and work cross-functionally across the organization to support our on campus, in home, virtual, and new product offerings. The individual will be responsible for: financial close, financial reporting, revenue recognition, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and supporting FP&A. Additional responsibilities include the continual development of the accounting department, including people, process, and technology. This role reports directly to the CEO.
Manage and oversee core accounting functions, including financial close, financial reporting, revenue recognition, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, bank borrowing, etc.
Implement accounting best practices and controls across existing processes and procedures, specifically focusing on revenue recognition and client spend.
Transition accounting processes in-house from external bookkeeper
Establish, enforce, and monitor internal controls and accounting policies and procedures in accordance with US GAAP
Manage and lead the company through financial statements, internal control, and tax audits
Manage the design and implementation of accounting and financial reporting technologies; continually assess systems to meet the company’s growth needs.
Develop monthly FP&A variance analysis
Set up an expense approval system and complete our AP onboarding with our vendor, Negotiatus
Support forecasts and manage monthly budget
Assist with ad hoc projects and analysis
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration; CPA required
5+ years of professional accounting experience, preferably with at least 1 year in-house experience at a big four accounting firm
Strong technical accounting skills with a solid understanding of US GAAP standards and internal control procedures
Experience with designing and implementing new accounting systems and processes
Strong analytical skills and master of Excel and Google Suite
Experience with accounting software (e.g. QBO) and BI tools (e.g. Periscope, Tableau)
Organized, detail-oriented, self motivated, professional
Ability and willingness to quickly and efficiently adapt in a rapidly changing, start up environment
