Based at our Tribeca campus, you would work alongside world-class educators to implement an inquiry-based curriculum guided by children’s developmental needs, as well as their ideas and interests. In our brand new, state-of-the-art classrooms, you will dream up rich, thematic units that foster children’s curiosity without losing sight of key individual and age-appropriate milestones.
We are seeking innovative, teachers who:
See themselves as learners and researchers alongside children
Are careful observers of children
Have the ability to create trusting relationships with children, families and other colleagues
Practice progressive educational philosophies
Have experience in an urban setting
Have strong oral and written communication skills
Qualifications:
Infant/Toddler Programs (6 weeks to 2 years old)
An Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education
At least two years working with young children
CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
Preschool Programs (2 years old to 5 years old)
At least two years working with children
CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
A Master’s Degree in early childhood or child development with New York State Initial or Permanent Early Childhood Certification in N-6 or B-2 or
A Bachelor’s Degree in early childhood education or related field with New York State Early Childhood Initial or Permanent Certification or in a work study program or
A college degree in an appropriate human service area or education field (i.e.: psychology, special education, social work) including some courses in child development with willingness to obtain initial Early Childhood Certification
