We are seeking innovative, teachers who:

  • See themselves as learners and researchers alongside children
  • Are careful observers of children
  • Have the ability to create trusting relationships with children, families and other colleagues
  • Practice progressive educational philosophies
  • Have experience in an urban setting
  • Have strong oral and written communication skills

Qualifications:

Infant/Toddler Programs (6 weeks to 2 years old)

  • An Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education
  • At least two years working with young children
  • CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain

Preschool Programs (2 years old to 5 years old)

  • At least two years working with children
  • CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
  • A Master’s Degree in early childhood or child development with New York State Initial or Permanent Early Childhood Certification in N-6 or B-2 or
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in early childhood education or related field with New York State Early Childhood Initial or Permanent Certification or in a work study program or
  • A college degree in an appropriate human service area or education field (i.e.: psychology, special education, social work) including some courses in child development with willingness to obtain initial Early Childhood Certification
