Your Role:

The Lean Training Supervisor will be responsible for leading initiatives to implement lean manufacturing across the production facility and working with crew to instill a lean culture in our everyday work. You will manage all internal training programs in addition to supervising the day-to-day activities of assigned trainers.

What You'll Do 

  • Lead and manage a highly capable team of 8 trainers who support in-line technical training programs 
  • Facilitate Lean/CI activities and kaizens. 
  • Provide training in lean manufacturing systems and tool usage. 
  • Mentor/coach crewmembers in lean manufacturing methodologies and CI. 
  • Engage and inspire crewmembers to recognize process improvement opportunities and actively participate in the realization/validation of their suggestions utilizing the appropriate Lean/CI approach.  
  • Ability to coach in the moment and deliver constructive feedback to a wide range of crewmembers (hourly crew members through facility leadership) 
  • Assess the training and development needs of all employees using a training matrix, making recommendations for improved effectiveness 
  • Audit existing teaching materials and course aids and update them as required. 
  • Assist in creating workplace learning curriculums and training materials in partnership with key cross functional partners (CI, Learning and Development, etc.) 
  • Communicate expectations to ensure all safety, quality, sanitation, and food safety procedures are followed without exception. 

What You Bring to the Table 

  • 2+ years of demonstrated success as a supervisor/leader in a fast paced, manufacturing or production environment 
  • 5+ years of experience in a complex plant operations environment 
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or Operations is strongly preferred, High School diploma or GED combined with applicable experience required 
  • Lean Manufacturing background highly desired  
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail and accuracy 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills 
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven approach 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally. 
  • Ability to work in a fluid, fast paced environment 
  • Ability to quickly learn new tools and systems 
  • Excel skills – ability to manipulate data using standard formulas / functionality and in templates created by others

At Vital Farms, compensation decisions are dependent upon a variety of factors, which may include, but are not limited to, skill level, experience, education, training, market demands, and business needs. A reasonable estimate of the current starting annual base salary for this position is $80,000 - $100,000. Please keep in mind that hiring at the maximum end of the range would not be typical in order to allow for potential continued future salary growth.
