Your Role:
Reporting to the Director of Farm Network Expansion Strategy, the New Farm Construction Coordinator will be responsible for meticulous management of new barn construction timelines and specification adherence. The Building Coordinator will work with new Vital Farms’ farmers, dirt work specialists and builders to ensure they complete construction of their barn prior to their bird placement date.
What You'll Do:
- Serve as a trusted partner and advisor to farmers as they navigate the new barn construction process. Support farmers through this time which can be filled with excitement, questions, and sometimes a touch of anxiety.
- Conduct introductory meetings with all new growers to discuss each phase of the project progress from contract signing to bird placement.
- Conduct a minimum of 3 in person farm/farmer visits during the construction process.
- Conduct weekly status calls with farmers and contractors regarding project management timelines and tracking.
- Project manage and monitor the progress of all new construction to ensure every farmer is prepared to welcome their first flock a minimum of one week prior to their scheduled pullet delivery date.
- Develop relationships with all stakeholders including, but not limited to, equipment suppliers, building/construction teams, dirt work and fencing crews, to support construction progress and collaborate to resolve potential delays in the construction progress.
- Maintain highly visible dashboard to track progress of all construction projects as well as key milestones to quickly identify project status. Continually improve upon project management processes.
- Define barn construction timeline, milestones, hard gate criteria, project management checklists, and more to inform dashboard and meticulously track progress.
- Maintain weekly communication with Farm Recruitment team, Compliance, Pullets Ops, Director of Farm Network Expansion and VP of Operations.
- Upon completion of construction, conduct a final project walkthrough with famer, construction team and Farm Support member who will support the farm.
- Partner with Famer Training and Onboarding Manager to continuously refine barn construction learning materials to provide to the farmer.
- Develop end of construction documentation to ensure a seamless handoff to pullet team/ farm support.
What You Bring to the Table:
- Candidate must be located within Arkansas, Missouri or Kansas
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience preferred
- Must be able to travel to farm locations a minimum of 3 days weekly. Expected travel likely to be around 75%.
- 2- 4 years of Experience in Construction Project Management required with barn construction experience preferred.
- Meticulous attention to detail and dedication to robust documentation.
- Personal commitment to ensuring all milestones are met.
- Ability to manage multiple, time sensitive, priorities and deadlines.
- Microsoft Office expertise and experience using Project Management software.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Creative conflict resolution and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
