What We Need:

We are looking for an experienced Lead Online Software Engineer to join a growing team and help develop innovative features on a future iteration of the WWE 2K Series. This position reports into Principal Engineer, and is fully remote.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead, manage, and mentor fellow online engineers, and be the primary hub of communication and information for other subject areas
  • Review development challenges, define requirements and then propose, test and ship solutions
  • Collaborate with multi-functional team members to deliver high quality systems and features
  • Dive into a large codebase to simplify processes, tackle challenges, and identify deficiencies
  • You will be responsible for full stack development working on both game client and backend services
  • Develop and maintain game server code with emphasis on stability, performance, and scalability
  • Perform load testing, build unit tests, and solve any issues to ensure optimal live services
  • Produce code that is clean, efficient, well-documented, and conforms to our coding standards

Who Will Be A Great Fit:

  • 6+ years of game development experience
  • 2+ years of engineering leadership
  • Fluent in C++, C#, JavaScript, Python, SQL
  • Proficiency with Client/Server and Peer-to-Peer architectures
  • Experience with 3rd Party APIs
  • Experience in cloud computing (AWS, Azure, etc.)
  • Expertise in deploying, operating, and scaling dedicated game servers for session-based, multiplayer games
  • Solid understanding of multi-threading concepts
  • Proven experience writing reliable, performant, and well documented code
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and hybrid environment
  • Happy to tackle a wide-ranging array of challenges, some of which will occur with little advance notice
  • A thorough knowledge of modern game engine networking technology
  • Proficient with PlayStation Network, Xbox Live and Steamworks
  • Experience with online social game systems and games with live development
  • Knowledge of NoSQL and SQL databases
  • Love for video games (not just ours!)

The pay range for this position in California at the start of employment is expected to be between $146,015 and $187,720 per year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an 'at-will position' and the company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
