The foundations team at Vise builds and maintains the infrastructure on which our investment management platform runs. As an infrastructure engineer, you will help optimize the operation of our platform while ensuring reliability, compliance, and security. The role expects a cross-functional mindset as you’ll be collaborating with a team of engineers, data scientists, quants, traders, and investment strategists.
 
Our office is located in One World Trade in NYC. We support flexible remote and hybrid work arrangements. Our office is open with strict contact tracing and protocols for anyone who chooses to go in. What you will own

  • Design, build, and maintain core infrastructure hosted on AWS.
  • Build developer-facing systems to test, build, and deploy Vise’s software and trading intelligence.
  • Define and implement our infrastructural security posture.
  • Develop monitoring/observability and automation to support a lean mindset on the foundations team.
  • Define and lead processes for reliability, compliance, and security that will be used across engineering.

What you will bring on Day 1

  • 3+ more years of experience as a DevOps engineer, Site Reliability engineer, or Software Engineer building platform infrastructure.
  • Have experience with deployment frameworks such as Terraform; CI/CD systems such as CircleCi; and container management systems such as Kubernetes.
  • Understand cloud computing, virtualization, and microservices architectures. Experience with major cloud platforms, especially AWS, is a plus.
  • Write clear, well-tested code in Python or Go.

  • Experience with building ML infrastructure and deploying live ML models.
  • Experience with deep learning frameworks (Vise is a PyTorch shop).
  • Experience with investment strategy and financial data.
