THE TEAM
Our "Gundy" team develop the system that produces essential reference data that is critical for most systems throughout Virtu: trading systems, quantitative research systems, and back office systems. This Gundy system ingests large datasets from many data vendors (Bloomberg, Reuters, etc), validating, enriching, normalising, and aggregating data, and then providing it to systems throughout Virtu via an API. The development stack is mostly Java with data stored in both relational (Oracle) and distributed (HBase) databases.
We are looking for a self-directed, motivated developer with a good foundation of advanced technologies and programming to join our team. We value strong communication skills; the ability to discuss complex, technical problems are critical to the success of our collaborative culture.

THE ROLE
- Manage the development, implementation and testing of new features for complex software applications
- Monitor day-to-day operation of the production system
- Perform proactive and reactive system maintenance
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s or Masters degree in Computer Science or related field
- Experience in Java
- Experience with SQL
- Interest in trading and financial markets
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Excellent communication skills are required
- Talented graduates will be considered
DESIRED, BUT NOT REQUIRED:
- Experience in Python
- Experience with HBase (or other cloud storage)
- Experience working in a Linux environment
- Experience in Oracle RDBMS
