Reporting to the Tax Director, the Tax Associate will be responsible for a wide variety of day-to day matters within our Tax Department, including domestic income tax compliance, income tax accounting and related audit support.  We are looking for a detail oriented, self-motivated and reliable professional to join our three-person tax team. We offer a flexible work arrangement comprising a combination of working from home as well as either our New York City or Short Hills, NJ locations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review federal, state and local partnership and corporate tax returns, extensions, and quarterly estimates including preparing and maintaining various schedules to compute book to tax differences,
  • Prepare and review sales/use tax compliance
  • Review / prepare ASC 740 corporate income tax provision and related footnote disclosures to be included in the annual and quarterly SEC filings of forms 10-K and 10-Q
  • Review international tax provisions and preparation of foreign tax credit calculations
  • Preparation of quarterly and annual tax accruals and effective tax rate analysis
  • Assist in managing tax audits including responding to IDRs
  • Respond to notices from tax authorities
  • Assist with tax research and planning
  • Work closely with external public accountants and finance and accounting colleagues.

 

Required Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • 0-2 years total tax experience
  • Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize responsibilities
  • Ability to work independently and in a team structure
  • Superior work ethic with high level of accountability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with online tax research tools such as Checkpoint
  • Proficient with Excel and Microsoft products
