Virta is hiring an experienced content and communications professional to manage the creation and publication of Virta content in multiple channels, directed at a diverse set of audiences. This is an incredible opportunity for someone to help shape a new narrative in healthcare—how Virta’s approach is redefining what is possible in type 2 diabetes outcomes for both patients and payers.

As a member of Virta’s Corporate Marketing Team, this person will have a passion for authentic storytelling and be responsible for the delivery of compelling, narrative-enforcing content. This is a role for someone who has an expert ability to author engaging written stories, and who has an equal passion for the end-to-end content production process. You’re comfortable working cross-functionally with stakeholders from all parts of an organization, and can express in writing everything from the patient experience to the nuances of the Virta care model.

Responsibilities

  • Manage creation of content for multiple Virta marketing channels and initiatives, including blog, corporate website, conferences and award applications, and internal communications, acting as primary editor and working with internal and external resources
  • Author original content with a focus on deepening Virta’s narrative among our key stakeholders and driving our messaging across our most critical marketing channels
  • Own and manage release process for Virta blog and Virta corporate website with full autonomy (and expectation) to evolve our processes as we grow
  • Own process for placing Virta speakers at conferences, while managing relationships with both conference organizers and any external resources
  • Manage Virta’s SEO performance, and execute detailed analyses of content performance and identify suggested actions to improve

90-Day Plan

  • Learn Virta’s messaging and story, and contribute your insights to evolve and enhance it
  • Author original content for multiple channels that supports Virta’s Corporate Marketing strategy
  • Create 2020 strategy for content and communicate it to key Virta stakeholders
  • Evaluate and revamp internal reporting on content performance

Requirements

  • Passion for and strong ability to write clearly, persuasively and empathetically in a way that meets the needs of a diverse set of audiences
  • Proven track record managing the creation of effective and inspiring content that simplifies complex ideas, with primary focus on writing, and preferred skill in other mediums (e.g. video), too
  • Strong preference for those whose backgrounds include working with medical professionals or scientists
  • Interest in building processes and leveraging tools that make people’s job easier and provide for 10x scale
  • Ability to edit and alter voice and tone of content to align with Virta’s corporate brand strategy
  • Bachelor’s degree marketing, journalism, business, or a related field
  • At least six years of experience in marketing, communications, or a related field
